It's frustrating because everything is so extreme around this show — for some reason — that even thinking he isn't a very good actor/comes off very stiff in HR (which is my position) broadly gets swept in the weird parasocial hate he and other cast members seem to be getting.

I do not hate him by any means, and am open to having my mind changed about his acting as I see more from him. Nothing justifies the rabid, racist hate he is getting, a lot of which is motivated by, as you said, jealousy. His personality in interviews is somewhat off-putting — the initial amusing contrast between him and Storrie's irl personas versus the role they played has worn off for me — but that's about it.

Social media and the broader online environment are basically hate machines. I don't really know if ANY hate train over the past ten years is justified, or at least meaningful/productive in any way

I don't hate him though I did criticize him and that gay hockey show as a whole like 2 months ago and got like 40 Thumbs Down for stating my opinion, yet now some of the same people who defended him back then now hate him apparently

Expecting someone with his level of exposure to not get hate is futile, but yes, immediately jumping to calling someone ugly to be contrarian because they have a large following is indeed corny

I think his acting in the show was pretty ropey, but the level of hate is way too much

if you hate him you need a life. really. there's a plethora of hate-able celebrities to choose from. Hudson seems to mind his business and seems to be a decent actor. go after Jake Paul or Timothee Charlatan or whoever
