I'm not projecting anything onto you. You said something that was out of touch with the reality of the situation in a way that was really condescending and rude(just like this post I'm responding to now). This is a very common experience with how taboo being gay was just a generation back, and as somebody who could definitively point to your comment being wrong, I spoke up. Men don't need to be married with children to be in the closet, that's a selfish choice they make. It can be a great thing that somebody is being themself and the steps they took before they got there can be horrible. That's not me being traumatized, I'm happy to be alive and think it's gaggy that the whole time I was growing up my dad was so supportive of me because he understood me on a deeper level than he could say at the time. Don't speculate on how other people feel and pass it off as fact in the future. If I was actually trauma dumping like you wanted to pretend I was, you would be a horrible person for this response btw. For somebody so set on using therapy speak you might want to reflect on why you immediately jump to dismissing and attacking.

and when a man is victimizing their family, the correct thing to do is side-eye them, even if you identify with them and support them living more honestly. There is not one person who has been on the other side of this who would agree with you shaming that user, not even other gay people.

It's not just the media and it's not just celebrities. Ask the women in your lives about ridiculous comments they've been given about their weight, fashion choices, beauty routine, hairstyles, etc. It's as toxic as the gay beauty standards, but instead of only other women caring, literal slob straight men think they're entitled to give their opinions without asking too, and so does everybody else.
