  1. I think we all know who she was really named after
  2. Grammys at the time had general field nominations decided by a blue ribbon panel choosing their favorites out of the top 15-20 popular votes and not straight votes. The president of the Academy I believe admitted that he was top 5 by votes in all of the general field categories
  3. Glad this situation has created pressure on Zionists so quickly, but truly shows how ignorant they are if they think vaguely referring to "humanitarian causes" won't be clocked immediately the way that even a public spectacle of this magnitude can't force them to admit that there's a crisis in Gaza specifically, a mess
  4. So the actual individual in question is trying to get the focus back on the work he's doing instead of his name being used in stan wars, and it's pretty much radio silence compared to the tweets made by the volunteer. If this isn't a perfect analogy for why this entire conversation is an unhelpful diversion, I don't know what is
  5. big step up from performing for LuLaRoe during the witness era
  6. She was one of the first MPGs I ever stanned so this has been a hard week. Luckily I still own most of her pre-TTAL discography on CD, so I can still have some nostalgic bops without putting any coin in her pocket
  7. I gotta say that this is probably one of the most important things anyone in the entertainment industry has done thus far with regards to Palestine. Pressure needs to be placed on these venue execs to let them know that the ramifications of censorship are enough of a financial loss to be untenable, and this is probably the most direct action anyone in the industry has taken to that effect. Major respect to all of the opening acts, I hope this is the first in a line of many organized actions to place more pressure on these Zionist bigwigs
  8. I would love for her to win a 3rd, but this film is distributed by a really weak distributor that has never won/been nominated for an Oscar before (to my knowledge,) so she probably won't even get a nomination. Seems like Julianne is still the frontrunner
  9. It's under her brand name, "Bounty Full's Black Don't Crack" https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/search/search-results/99714860

Sometimes a song loops back around from being so forcibly gay-pandering and bastardized camp that it actually ends up being good
  12. @D.M.F does Genie outpeaking this on the decade-end chart disqualify it? Discuss!
  13. I was thinking about how nebulous the terms "global" and "smash" have become on ATRL, and how there are relatively few songs that generally all fanbases can agree are global smashes regardless of who they stan. So, are there any songs that are so undeniably big here that they're impossible to argue against, and what makes them so undeniable compared to others? Some possible candidates: Rolling in the Deep/Someone Like You Espresso Drivers License Most of Katy's TD/Prism singles Poker Face Die With a Smile Don't Start Now/Levitating Shake It Off/Blank Space Any others?
  14. Who knew that the gays would gun for Republicans' place as the demographic most obsessed with women's reproductive organs in 2026!
  15. The discussion of homophobia is a pointless redirect that's been used for far too long to frame the genocide as an abstract moral dichotomy rather than, well, a genocide. The US has had no problem directly supporting horrifically homophobic regimes throughout history where queer individuals were subject to state-sanctioned violence, the military juntas in Latin America being one example, so it's clearly not pertinent to why the west supports Israel. It's about geopolitical hegemony and access to resources, period, and there are no actions that the US has contributed to in Palestine that have in any way aided queer Palestinians. The repackaging of Western military operations in the Middle East as a battle of morality is doublespeak used to conceal the true nature of hegemony, and it shouldn't be entertained anymore.
  16. Get up out of your seat (Your seat) Come on up to the dance floor I've got something so sweet (So sweet) Come on up to the front door

  18. Nicki hasn't released any music this year, and I'm forever appreciative of her generosity in doing so
  19. So her issue is allegedly that people were implying that Jewish audience members didn't have the right to be "scared?" Maybe, just maybe, horror is the appropriate reaction to a genocide being perpetrated by Israel. Seems pretty null given that Macklemore went out of his way to separate Jews from the actions of Israel, and any targeting that she's alluding to could at least be as well explained by the tying of Zionism to Jewish identity that Israel tries to manufacture.
  20. Very much so, nearly all nominees at any country awards show are either on established Nashville outposts of major labels or indie labels based in Nashville. Atlantic just founded their country outpost and doesn't really have any other well-established artists on it, so that compounded with the discourse over whether or not she's really country leads me to think this makes a lot of sense.
  21. I find the media circus around this trial to be incredibly inappropriate on all sides. Three children are dead, and the dogma on either side of the discourse doesn't change that fact, nor would either outcome of this trial even mitigate that slightly. I guess FOX News reported this because Republican politicians used this case as a lightning rod to pander to their base by calling the one holdout juror a hero. But I do find a lot of the things I'm seeing about this case here to be misguided. The finding would have been not guilty by reason of insanity, and one of the most common misunderstandings about psychosis is that someone cannot have any semblance of organized thinking. This is false; the prefrontal cortex is affected by psychosis, but it loses control over the limbic system, responsible for emotional coding. It does not necessarily render the prefrontal cortex unable to execute any form of planning. This means that the primary processes affected by psychosis are reality testing, reward systems, and data filtering, which could easily jive with the idea that she had a delusional motive that overrode normal emotional salience coding. This is such a well-established finding that forensic psychologists are often trained not to use goal-directed behavior as ruling out psychosis; much more has to be established besides that alone to completely rule it out. The fact that she sent her husband to do errands and called him back does not rule out psychosis at all, and since reality testing is the most impaired, psychosis often involves periods of planning and intermittent waves of lucidity and disorganization. This doesn't make the case cut and dry, and the juror had every right to hold out if there were aspects of the NGRI verdict that still led to reasonable doubt, but there also isn't enough evidence to 100% prove premeditation that falls outside of the scope of insanity/psychosis. What's true is that she at the very least needs to spend the majority or rest of her life in a mental facility, but the amount of misinformation about this case is very dismaying to me.
  22. At the end of the day, larger societal critiques, regardless of their merit, are always going to be diluted or completely nullified when couched within stan twitter rhetoric. Making it so much about Taylor already sets her up to be easily discredited instead of making a larger structural critique. Atp I just don't get it, even if you have the idea that you want to speak "truth to power," is going back and forth with Swifties on X and digging the hole any deeper going to change anything if it hasn't already?
  23. Thefty has fans in the Netherlands and Germany? What are we doing here
  24. The real reason is because the artist chart measures total streams across an artist's catalog. Katy has a dense concentration of streaming hits from OOTB to Prism, but her album track streams are low enough to where the potential few million needed to bump her up a few spots isn't (currently) possible. She would need a few other viral album tracks or for an entire era to have a resurgence to crack the top 15 area And just for posterity, Gaga is doing 19.2M daily while Katy is doing 16.3M. Subtracting DWAS, Gaga would be doing 16.6M daily, and that's without anything having a recent viral resurgence
