She's not gonna waste a great song on Devil Wears Prada 2 bffr. Those type of releases are strategic, it's about visibility and maybe behind the scenes deals - „I do 3 songs and cameo here and you give me a good role later". Its a big studio and she still wants to act.

I know Runway isn't the strongest song, but the Spotify performance isn't adding up. She's racing back to 100M monthly listeners, gained 500k listeners yesterday alone, the song is still rising on AM, iTunes + Shazam globally, had the biggest day on Tik Tok this week YET the song stays losing streams on Spotify. I refuse to believe that Material Lover song is about to outstream every Gaga track when it's non existence on other platforms/metrics. Not to mention the very odd sudden rise of a certain pop girls throwback discography amidst an image scandal.

What is ex Spotify Global Services Head Troy Carter up to these days? We need a full investigation into the Spotify HQ.

Soundtrack songs, even for low brow movies/TV shows, have been some of the biggest songs of all time. Tens of millions of people will be exposed to TDWP2 in a very short amount of time, more than any other promo spot she'll ever do except for maybe the Super Bowl.

Saying she wouldn't waste a good song on TDWP2 makes no sense and I don't know where this narrative came from. It's a huge opportunity, just as Top Gun was (and OneRepublic got a big hit from that one), and unfortunately the songs just didn't rise to the occasions.

Sienna Carino outstreaming the Gaga tracks despite tracklist placement, promotion and platform reach doesn't make any sense. I doubt it's even technically possible.

People can't expect that she releases always avant-garde high quality of songs that are not automatically a garancy of smashing either, see 'Disease', both 'The Dead Dance' and 'Runway'/'Shape of Woman' were right fit for the kind of projects that they were attached to and certainly she is aware when a song doesn't become a hit, it doesn't mean the quality of her work is to blame when there are tones of factors in play, not ot mention it's obviously not a deal breaker having a hit at all costs at this point of her career especially with her being fresh of 'Die with a Smile' and 'Abracadabra' kind of hits which are already a big deal for somebody who is almost 20 years into her career.

I could have sworn she said that in her rolling stone interview but maybe I made that up.

I believe it's true also. It wouldn't surprise me if there was way more joker promo planned but she pivoted into music. Hot ones, the lie detector, asmr stuff I could see all being promo for jfad that moved to mayhem promo.

That Sienna song sounds VERY on trend as well, I'm not surprised it's taking off instead of the Gar songs (which never sounded like hits in the first place)
