The GP just doesn't click with Gaga most of the time post-ARTPOP. She has huge hits here and there, but her music is clearly not to the GP's taste anymore. Her style of pop is very different than most of what is on the radio, and widely consumed. Especially by US audiences.

I mean Shallow did well. Soundtrack songs are unpredictable. They tend to be massive or flop without much in between. I just don't think Gaga's style is on trend anymore. Her singing style is very different from contemporary pop and she isn't really listened to by straight men so she has a ceiling with her music.

And yet Gaga was able to create a massive promo spot out of thin air with 'Mayhem Requiem'. Yes there are not traditional promo slots, but the idea that an artist like Gaga cant invent and create promo spots is not actual and factual.

I mean I heard Runway used in ads for DWP2, it was featured in a montage, it has a flashy music video, Gaga & Doechii posted about it, it had playlisting, it just isn't connecting.

True but Shallow felt authentic cause she's actually singing it in the movie during a pivotal moment. These songs are crammed in and feel more like a marketing ploy which is why they don't necessarily resonate if that makes sense.

She just needs to choose the right projects and match the sound of the project rather than just signing up and putting leftover tracks in if that makes sense. Shallow was MADE for ASIB. Dead Dance and Runaway not so much

My issue is the quality of the music. Like someone else said, just because something is a side project doesn't mean you have to release mid-to-low-tier songs for it. You can still do side projects and put out quality music, look at Harlequin or GL.

A huge part of the fanbase doesn't like RUNWAY, SOAW didn't exactly blow people away, and even GL has its haters.

If not even her core audience loves the songs, how do people expect the GP to respond?

The same thing happened with TDD.

"They fit perfectly with the projects they're part of", sure, but with all that exposure, imagine what they could've been for us fans if the songs were actually top tier.

Disease flopped but not one member of this base could say anything bad about that song, cause it's simply too good.

Right. Ultimately it's more understandeable if songs for side projects aren't as good, but it doesn't have to be that way.

Switched on notifs for AM on Twitter yesterday thinking the next post would be Requiem related only to get bombarded with some French Montage and Charli Xbox releases

Her most attractive, most versatile producer, yes! Yes!

Gaga should be the main producer of her next album (I think she was teasing this with the Grammy perf. of Abracadabra). She is the common ground between her best-produced works. Her worst-produced album is the one where she's absent from the producing credits.
