A song like Abracadabra was a hit purely out of quality and out of the fact that there's a demand for songs like these that literally no other artist has been able to fill before or since Lady Gaga. A solo song that was a hit, a cultural moment, got insane critical acclaim, universal fan acclaim and got nominated for a **** ton of Grammys, including ROTY and SOTY. I'm not saying she has to release songs that sounds like Abracadabra, but it's pretty obvious she should not attempt to follow trends. Gaga herself admitted in song exploder she thought that Abracadabra was not commercial or streaming friendly, and was worried about it. It seems pretty clear that this worry was misguided. I'm sure this will inform next era, just as Bloody Mary smashing informed Mayhem.

ok just read through the last pages BICHESSS.

1. runaway and GL and SOAW are too cliché. It's an ok effort but nothing special. They don't have the same quality and originality that ARUTW, Shallow, and good damn even HOld my Emmy have.

Controversially, I don't think age will be as big of a problem to Gaga's career as some of you guys think it will be.

You hit it. She has realized that only she can succeed at being Gaga. Working on Mayhem, releasing it and the reception has been that journey. I would be surprised if the next album is a satinized version of her self in the way Joanne, Chromatica were. I'm not saying she is going to do TFM, BTW or Mayhem but what she's going to do is going to be bold, daring and distinct. When the material is "safer", she's going to shine due to her talent and how she executes it (like Harlequin, a cover album of jazz songs with a weird imagery and a Gaga twist).

In the event that the next album is industrial rock, I'm not expecting her to cosplay. I'm expecting her to own it and make it Gaga. Gaga means visuals, fashion, a certain imagery. She's not going to do Grigio Girls, Fun Tonight or Hold My Hand, songs that could be sang by anybody. We can just compare Hold My Hand and Glamorous Life. Both anthemic ballads, yet she found a way to write about walking the line between fame and excess and somehow incorporate both robotic and showcase vocals into it. That's where Gaga should head now.

Living life and making new music informed by those life experiences aren't mutually exclusive. She's working on her next album as we speak just as she continues to wind down after a whirlwind year.

Come on guys. I know the songs might not be charting but Nose My Hag cannot touch any of the TDWP2 songs. Glamorous Life along is a contender for a top 30 Gaga song. We should be pissed it's not attached to a full owned project. Let's not twist reality here now.

i just saw TDWP2 omg its so bad - anyway gaga's cameo was good people gasped when she appeared.and GP liked so another win for Gags

the amount of fail attempts to deliver funny momments... the re-heated nachos of "oh this was in the first movie" that was so random brought up everytime... Andy is not Andy anymore idk why she try to be cute funny bublily when she was never that, she was just shy quirky clumsy, then she was not she became a runway girl, that didn't wanted to be that anymore"step on people and be a cold fashionista" ...the exaggeration on Andy's faces girl calm down, and Miranda was something else, she was not cold anymore like they didn't gave her actually lines to talk always face..girl- Emily's evolution was the only good one.. the part of the new boyfriend that was so fast in love with, unnecessary. I honestly think if there's something it'll probably be that Gaga's song with The Weeknd will be played during the games intermission or something. It feels appropriate for a collab between two giants to get that level of promotion.

not at all and Hold my hand will always be more streamed. The melodies are better and simple in Hold my Wombat.

But Runway's 32-OUT is really unprecedented for Gaga. And SOAW didn't even debut.

Not worried for LG8 tho, but still, I think literally everyone though this would do way bigger numbers (in the vein of HMH/TDD). No one would have predicted Runway doing sub-1M just 1 week after the movie release, while SOAW doing only 500k.

SOAW is doing pretty cute though given it's not on radio and doesn't have a video. We are just holding it to a Gaga standard, but as a soundtrack song with no official push, it's performing well.

RUNWAY is literally one of the worst songs she's put out, so no surprise there. Luckily she doesn't seem to care and it's just a side thing.
