scarlet was and is her best record. i want her to go back to that sound and stay there

  • She's too messy, I think she can have another string of hits and a hit album but her auto-destructive nature will put her back in the same place right after somehow

    no hope this helps

I actually think her image is pretty tarnished at this point. I don't follow her on anything but her tiktok addressing the selfhate stuff got on my FYP meaning she's trying to clean up her image a bit

I think the "evil" "hates fans" "selfhater" stuff is pretty persistent to her brand now which is hard to shake off. Especially cause her brand during PH was so goofy and likeable

I wasn't turned off. She was fed up of being told by the people who are supposed to be her fans that she was "ugly" and "needed mental help" and so she was trying to get rid of those fans by giving them the same energy back.

Which is fine, but also it's going to obviously impact her commercially

No. And it's mind blowing that someone with such attitude achieved such success to begin with.

Nah. I kinda feel like she's over

She'll go the Halsey route; still release artsy albums, talk sh*t about the industry, and have a solid touring career.

I actually think she can, but only because nobody currently in the female rap scene can fill the gap that she would leave behind if she were to actually completely fall off. I have my issues with Doja but she does release consistently and is still the only one in the game who seems to be able to have a crossover audience between pop, R&B and rap. I don't see any girls being able to take that spot yet, maybe Doechii but she's laying pretty low right now.

So long story short, if she releases a song again that catches people's attention she absolutely can.

doja SWEETIE!!!

doechii is over and had like 1-2 hits in her short run. doja is queen of rap!!!

shes here to stay, no one comes close to her range and talents!!!!

no she became too weird that she almost lost her cool factor

She just needs to release a bop and people will forget all the messy things she has done lol

obviously, shes a true artist. Only parasocial losers care about her hating her fans or wtv ahh

Doja is talented and has an ear for hits. I genuinely believe she can come back at any time and smash if the song is good. Vie kind of flopped bc of the Scarlet backlash, but she's not done. Ppl forget everything these days anyway.

She's clearly cemented herself in this industry. Seeing Nicole Kidman's success, she can definitely bounce back... Atp it's really just a matter of whether she actually wants to bounce back to be a big and successful artist. I just don't think she's that type of person rn

I mean she ruined a lot of her good will over the years. Shes touring arenas in America right now and they have been on sale for over a year. Most dates are not even sold out. Meanwhile newer acts like Tate, Katseye, etc are selling out their US arena dates in a day.

I can see her getting another GP hit. But it seems like she didn't build a fanbase the way other 2020s popstars have. Which will hurt her even really bouncing back.

I think she is seen as uncool by the youth atm

Easily yes, if she wants to. I get the feeling she might want to chase an arts not charts thing nowadays lol but she's still massively talented and there's still no other pop girl doing her kind of thing.

And I think you all really overestimate the damage her troll antics have done, no one really cares she made some facetious comments about her early music being a cash grab, be real rip

yall the if she wanted to responses when her latest release was a straight pop album lmao

In my opinion....She needs an image aesthetic revamp and a great team of black hot urban-pop-r&B producers songwriters. The hottest in the game right now. No more white ones.....they just don't suit her (antonoff) giraffe
Just Invent a new trend-thing or follow the current trends with something exotic
Vie arrived too late to the game and i think Jealous Type was too in your face to work.
Too overly 80s to work in the middle of 2020s

I can see her havin a comeback cause she's a very special type of artist-unique flav of popstar.
She's not basic like thousands out there.....
There's definitely a slot right now for a fun Black female singer, and I want her.....Tinashe, PinkPantheress, or Tyla—to be the one leading that lane.

My only worry, if you want total honesty from me, is that she was giving off some really unstable vibes during her new livestreams. I think she might have some personal issues she needs to work through before putting herself back into superstar mode. That scares me a lot. More messyness and doja ruining her goodwill forever like demi did years ago with froyo and all the situations emofish

Vie just arrived after 80s saturation point and didn't capture peoples' interest michael The music was still good and she can still write a hook.

She kinda killed her pop career when she tried to appear as a credible rapper but she is talented so I don't count her out. She said she's tired and wants to make music from a real place in one of these live streams so I don't think she wants to play the pop game anymore

She and dua can have another chance before they are really finished.

Both Dua Lipa and Doja Cat will have massive returns to music watch heart2

No shade to Doja, but why some of you always try to put them in the same narrative when their underperformance isn't even comparable?

Dua managed to get two hits (one currently being global top 5) and a successful tour in RO, while Doja is struggling for all of Vie to even get Illusion's stream numbers... biblio

OP. It's complicated. The problem I see with Doja is that she couldn't build global appeal or an audience outside the US, so once her own country stopped listening, her drop felt really bad. But Nicole Kidman is literally a carbon copy of her sound, which show us that if she goes back to making that kind of music, she still has a chance. swan

Adela replaced her

This. It's unfortunate, but true.

She can renounce back with new material that feels like her but fresh. Scarlet was way alienating for the GP (though it had 2 mega smashes) and Vie was so unpersonal imo.

Yeah. She just needs to stop talking on lives and release good singles.

She truly failed at trying to be a respected album artist. But artists don't need that in order to be successful. Being a singles' artists can make you huge too and the respect will arrive eventually. Her biggest problem is her ego and erratic behaviour as it is usual with these artists

I think so but I do think her image has taken a big hit on several fronts. Her rants, meltdowns and edgelord humor codes as annoying now whereas before it was kinda cute and funny. There's also A LOT of discourse surrounding resurfaced controversial things she's said and done about black ppl in general that keeps getting think pieces and lots of video essays with hundreds of thousands of views every few weeks and then there's also just the general vibe that she kinda lost her edge and cool factor when she allowed Nicki Minaj of all ppl to shade, mock and bully her. She's the only one of the popgirls and rap girls who didnt respond in a combative manner which could code as her just respecting Nicki a lot or also just her being kinda a coward. If you're spitting bars and engaging in troll behavior online then it is kinda expected that you can dish out some attacks on ppl who attack u but she just submitted. She lost her edge
