Two legends I would die if they collabed

t.A.T.u was the most surprising to me like woah No but Taylor has a large amount of top 5 albums and is still huge in Japan

Album is having amazing longevity We just need radio to pick up the singles quicker omg!!

Perched!

Japan has been the second largest music market since forever. One of the hardest markets for western acts to crack. Only a handful of Western acts have managed to top Japan's official chart Oricon. From what I found online only 6 singles ever went top ten on Oricon. And only 9 Acts were able to top the album charts. Singles: Irene Cara - Flashdance - #1 (2 weeks) Celine Dion — To Love You More — #1 (5 weeks) Mariah Carey — AIWFCIY — #2 Diana Ross — If We Hold on Together — #4 Whitney Houston — I Will Always Love You — #5 Olivia Newton-John — Take Me Home, Country Roads — #6 Albums: Madonna - True Blue (1 week) Madonna - Like a prayer (2 weeks) Whitney Houston - The Bodyguard (2 weeks) Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas (3 weeks) Mariah Carey - Daydream (2 weeks) Mariah Carey - Butterfly (1 week) Mariah Carey - The #1's (1 week) Celine Dion - The very best (1 week) Mariah Carey - Glitter (1 week) t.A.T.u - 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane (3 weeks) Avril Lavigne - Under my skin (2 weeks) Britney Spears - My prerogative (1 week) #1's - Destinys Child (1 week) Avril Lavigne - The best damn things (1 week) Madonna - Hard Candy (2 weeks) Lady Gaga - Born this way (1 week) Lady Gaga - Artpop (1 weeks)

Modern music has had a slow and gradual decline since MTV launched in the 80s and image became almost as important as the actual music. Thankfully it didn't shift over night and the 80s and 90s still had a plethora of amazing acts. But when you look at the quality dive from the 90s > 2000s > 2010s > 2020s its sort of shocking. I think people getting so into older music this decade really proves this theory.

Her last hit was in 1981 before most users were born. Most members on this website don't discuss anything pre Madonna sadly.

Its really just Taylor though with 1989. Most of these albums were certified Diamond only a few months after being certified 9x platinum. Millenium went Diamond in 7 months and 4 days. The second quickest album ever. The quickest? Titanic Soundtrack. It only took 5 months and 2 days

Why is Adela charting so low omg

It was the 5th best selling album in Europe that year wdym __ Fun fact: the quickest album to scan Diamond was the Titanic soundtrack. It only took 5 months and 2 days
