  1. According to Dan Wakeford (former editor in chief of People Magazine):
  2. Yea there's definitely genres that lend themselves more to streaming than pure, but for example, rap artists that are considered "album artists" (ex: Eminem) are still able to sell more pure albums than rap artists who arent album drivers (ex: Shaboozey)
  3. There's not really such thing as "album artists" anymore in the streaming era — an album could easily just be driven almost entirely by one hit single. But for me personally, I still look to pure sales and first week numbers as the tell. Like if they debut at #1 with a hit song but 200 pure copies? You ain't selling no albums lol
  4. She should win at least one Grammy and get an honorary moment too. It's been too long overdue and they owe her for under appreciating her for so long
  5. To be fair some of the owness falls on the artist in some of these instances. Like Normani basically gave up on her career after Motivation which at least RCA was willing to fund a decent video and VMA performance. Xtina elected to take big breaks after each album. So they're def not a great label, but not all of these artist's failures are just their fault
  6. I think the most evidence-backed (multiple producers confirming) and probable explanation is her priorities during the making of each album. During her 360-deal, making money was clearly the main objective which is why her albums during that period were trend chasing and vehicles to push tour sales. She was also too focused on diversifying her income to give her full attention to making a great album (clothing line, opening gyms, directing films etc.) — William orbit corroborated this. I think Confessions II was the first time where making a great body of work was her only priority, especially since her only other project (biopic) was as scrapped.
  7. nah she just isn't one to have a strong identity (typical of libras). She takes on the identity of whoever she's dating as her own. Think about it, she went from rocker punk chick (dating Tony) to girly fashionista (married British band frontman Gavin) to country hick (Blake). She truly believes each identity is how she is at that moment in time

Holding back an album for a year in order to announce it at SBHT 2027 would be very Beyonce of her
  9. What you need to remember is that this is ATRL. He could kill someone on a livestream and you'd still see them thirsting
  10. Not this thread exposing all the ignorant and illiterate members oh Beyonce your power
  11. When I see photos of her without ASAP or her kids around, I literally think they're from a decade ago. She never ages
  12. I'm sure she's guaranteed atleast one win which is why they gave her so many nominations to increase her chances, especially if she attends. It's MTV's bargaining chip for legends to agree to attend
  13. The desire and extent of monitoring, research and effort you ppl go to in order to drag someone should be studied
  14. This is the only correct answer
  15. Well Christmas has always been around, what's ruined late fall releases is streaming. Artists don't need to stagger around Black Friday anymore
  16. That's because Tsunami Swift (Oct) and Hurricane Adele (Nov) are coming in Q4
  17. I didn't know they even had a fanbase thread here lol and not the only two comments judging them for having jobs I….
  18. That too, is subjective. Depends where and when. If we're using "what I heard out in public as the only metric for "remembered" then everyone can have a different experience and it's not really quantifiable.

In b4 DC remixes + unreleased comes out before act iii (if it's not scrapped entirely)

To be fair BMS is encouraging the listener to quit (release) their jobs
  21. What is there to talk about, it's a bore and way too long too
