Obscure pop lore that's basically been lost to time / forgotten?
This was gonna be my response. "Alice" was by far the craziest lore bc she sounded SO much like Brit (she should've been hired by Team Con instead of Myah tbh). But thus is my first time hearing about this Sam thing. Like what??? Was it a guy or girl?

Can Janet have a mini-comeback like Madge?
The real question is, does Janet even want a comeback of any sorts? She kinda seems content just living off her legacy for the rest of her life

Harry's KISSCO has sold 1 million in the US
Is this really seen as a flop for him? Cause going platinum in less than 6 months is rare nowadays

MILEY - "Bass Persuades"
I don't think we can make blanket statements that the whole world has heard it after two days, but ok. Plus, it's not like Miley is coming off the back of Flowers like during SB. This is performing pretty in line with how she's been doing for the past two years

Sam Smith ends the Hazel Eyes era
Aren't all album era considered "over" once the album is out? That's the streaming era

From Beyoncé's boxes to Taylor's towels: How billionaires treat fans like ATMs
This is capitalism lol. Is any of this **** worth it? No, but this is how corporations work and our pop girlies are no different from tht

Katy Perry's concert film flops, fans enjoy the empty theaters
Actually I think it's in the top 10 of highest grossing concert films and at the time of release was the second highest grossing for a female. So I don't think Part of Me was an underperformance

Does this mean this won't even make it to streaming now

Okay

Hilary Duff - 'luck… or something'
Exactly! I keep seeing in this thread (that's about the album mind you!) that people want her on guest roles and co-starring on TV next year when it hasn't even been a year of the album yet! Like are yall forgetting we waited a whole damn decade for new music and you want her to ditch it for acting? I don't get this forum sometimes

Was this the most disrespectful moment ever recorded in the history of modern pop?
The overdramatics lol. I rewatched this and she was clearly just caught up in the moment. She eventually did interact with Celine backstage and was literally fawning over her. There's many other things you could try and drag Taylor for, but this unfortunately was a misstep on your part babe. Try again!

Hit songs known for being "bad"
Gangnam Style is the worst offender imo

Rolling Stone's "Introducing the Queen of Pop": where are they now?
Taylor is definitely leading the pack now, followed by Beyonce. Gaga and Katy are transitioning nicely into legacy status Britney and Rihanna are retired pop stars, but cultural figures. Xtina is a 00's relic Kesha and Robyn both have cult followings Kelly is and will always be the penultimate American idol Shakira is a Latin icon Adele & P!nk will always be a respected vocalists regardless of commercial success and will always be beloved by soccer moms Miley has a solid enough fanbase and celebrity to carry her career The last two are MAGA and i don't give af enough to even mention them So if we're not including Madonna, then Taylor is the current QoP

Dua's team: "Judge us in two years"
I hadn't seen this article back then, reflecting back RO definitely didn't meet their expectations. BUT I don't think they left completely disappointed, it just didn't make the impact I think they thought it would. I'm more interested in how her next era will turn out

Why Miley's new album won't work… and why this keeps happening..
She's aiming for quantity not quality so she doesn't need you to like her albums, cause she'll have another one in the works by the time the next round of "Miley flopped..why?" Threads come through

Remember when Madonna called Gaga's 'Born This Way' reductive… did she have a point?
I think it's important to distinguish that she was referring to the song, in which case yes, it is reductive and doesn't hold up well. But I get it had a purpose to serve and it did that superbly, but just sonically-speaking BTW as a song is indeed reductive

Nelly's 'Loose' anniversary edition - a new standard?
Well those songs never made the original release for a reason lol. Tacking them on years later was just as an incentive for fans to Buy the new version, so ofc they don't feel like they "fit"
