Do you use any 100 gecs tracks?
Yes both albums are excellent and they are fairly obviously one the most influential acts of this decade Their music has aged far better than their legion of copycats precisely because they can't be reduced to some ironic meme joke. They draw a lot of pathos from the NEET/stoner/online/dirtbag/dopamine addicted characters they inhabit, an archetype that basically the entire pop scene ignores despite representing an ever increasing swathe of the population. They are writing pop songs about spending your entire paycheck gambling, not being able to pay for for the dentist, boofing away a breakup and being too poor to make it Hollywood, alongside the ones about a Frog who goes to parties or whatever. Boiling them down to a lol-so-random act is missing the forest for the trees Tell me there's not real EMOTION in this track and especially outro! Mogged Track 10 dare I say. All that said I think it's unfortunately fitting if they end up like the Sleigh Bells of the 20s. Ie highly influential acts unfairly maligned as fads despite making consistently good records.

The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil says Ariana Grande is "dying"
Her stans keep individualising this as if 'Ariana Grande' isn't a multimillion dollar business and as if that business doesn't have industry bosses profiting from it at every moment. Ariana Grande herself being as obviously ill as she is but simultaneously as public and visible as she is is profitable to these people. That video went through every layer of planning shooting and editing and was released to the public the way it is because there is money to be made at the top from having her on screen in that state. She gets certified by quack Hollywood doctors as being healthy enough to tour so that the insurance goes through, and in the case that she is too ill to continue or even worse the top can reap literally hundreds of millions of dollars. In that eventuality they're also probably ensuring they have rights to any filming from the tour to either profit from a recovery documentary or again, even worse. Flipping this and blaming the public for daring to acknowledge that the industry is choosing to parade around a woman in this state is perverse. People are going to react to seeing this and they're going to question why they are seeing it and who is enabling the massive public platform for it.

F5VE sell out fanmeet in London, upgrade venues and sell out again
These future legends... I Choose You was their Chocolate Disco and their next single will be their Polyrhythm. I will be seeing them at Margins so I decided against getting tickets for this though. The kiddies need to be able to see them too if they're gonna have longevity

iKeda - "Go!"
It's kinda odd that no one has tried to pilfer MIA's sound in so long, especially this blatantly, but I don't mind it one bit !

People need to stop doing X vs Emotion threads. People will lie to themselves and pick X, only for the next quick lil homo album to come along and find itself once again compared to Emotion while X is completely forgagatten.

Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
First listen!: RAWK MUSIC: Still like this a lot Cheeky and fun but sincere, makes a lot of sense that this was the lead. SS26: Still weak to me... beautiful melody but I think the lyrics are kinda surface level hackneyed observations that unfortunately undermine the whole thing because of how sparse everything else is. Card Declined: Was expecting more from the hype and Sleigh Bells comparisons (???) but it's a fun girl anyway. Again idk this is well-trodden ground lyrically, even in the pop sphere, and I find it a little baffling the level of praise ms Charli can leverage for ye olde Money And Fame Can't Buy Happiness. Camera: Liking it more and more. Charli as always is great at bigger emotions and you feel that she feels what she says in this. Love how the production swells towards the back too! 2007: Cute but kinda disposable girl. Like the glitchy chorus. I'm Afraid: Very beautiful all around Yeah: I think this is more what I expected when she said she's making RAWK MUSIC and accordingly I like it a lot! Wink Wink: I think this is one of her worst singles and certainly a baffling choice to pick off of the album. An attempt at tiktok virality with the lyrics? Idk. This really does absolutely nothing for me, just adrift with a flat chorus that isn't as much of a hook as it seems to think. Persona: Fun and almost sucker-y? Like! Magic Metal Montana: Very cute and love that AG is getting some lyrical attention from her. Beautiful soundscape! No One Lasts Forever: The lyrical introspection lands a lot better here than on a bunch of the singles and I actually really like the spoken word portion. Good closer. Overall very pleasantly surprised because half the singles were kinda bad, but turns out they were low points on the record. It's actually one of her most consistent efforts I feel! Simultaneously I don't think anything really touches her previous highs but this is probably her most cohesive body of work that feels more focused on the whole-album experience.
