yup. been saying this for a few years now. assuming OP is speaking from a U.S. perspective, the democratic/liberal/leftist party, whatever you wanna call it, has been lost the plot. attacking the other side might've worked in 2000 but in this day and age it's not useful. dems/libs/leftists shouting just gives maga / conservatives more ammo and makes that side, no matter how well meaning or earnest, an easy target. point blank we'd be better off with a political ideology that's grounded in reason, empathy, humor, and one that sees all sides and doesn't villainize anyone. period. right now the system is primarily this: you fall into one of two categories, and the opposing team is your mortal enemy. GO! like literally nothing good or 'progressive' comes of that. it's a never ending fight. Trump fuels it for sure, but atp placing blame is also doing nothing good. progress needs all people on board, no matter your political label. if a political figure could rise up that captures that vibe, i think the U.S. would have a chance of becoming a respectable country. it's an uphill battle tho, what with social media and division being extremely profitable for corporations.
