Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland to plot break-up of United Kingdom
Exactly what Europe needs to be more globally competitive: More fragmentation. India, Russia, China and the US are going to eat all these little European countries for lunch, it's so funny.

Are streaming services killing new music? Or is new music just bad?
Most people are inherently lazy listeners. Give them complete freedom to choose their music, as streaming does, and most will just fall back on what they already know. That's why there's this "music was better back then" mentality. Stans used to complain about labels and radio controlling what we heard, but that system was also a major reason new music actually caught on. Labels had an incentive to constantly push new songs, and radio repeatedly exposed the GP to music they probably wouldn't have chosen themselves. Call it effective promotion or force-feeding, but it got people out of their comfort zones. Ofc it wasn't perfect, but it was a necessary level of control and gatekeeping for the music industry to move forward in terms of new releases, instead of just repeating the old hits. Now that control is mostly gone, people just listen to whatever they're already familiar with. And that's imo a big reason why there's less new music becoming the next generation's "old music".

Least greedy pop girl?
From the main pop girls it's Adele (or Lana if you count her as one). No side hustles, no endorsement deals, no perfumes, no lingerie or cosmetic lines, no frequent music releases, not even big tours, just one new album and a couple of shows or small residencies here and there every 7-8 years.

Are you buying the iPhone duo?
No. I'm happy with my iPhone as is, and will probably upgrade next year for the 2 decade anniversary model. I feel like while the Duo and the general concept of folded phones is interesting, the Duo specifically when closed seems too small and when opened too big for everyday tasks. A bigger screen is nice for entertainment like movies or games, or multitasking, but if I had to guess, I'd say that only consumes like 30-35% of my screen time, so a foldable isn't worth it to me. Once Apple refines their features on the Duo with 2-3 more generations and perhaps also introduces a Duo Max model that has a bigger folded screen, then I'd consider switching.

TikTok users drag Gaga, "she's Elon Musk for the gays"
The dislikes on this American taxpayer dollars are directly funding a genocide of Palestinians. Yes, a single voter, even one with a platform as big as Gaga's, cannot change this tragedy, but it is the moral duty of every American and other Western citizens whose leaders are funding the genocide in Gaza to take a public stance in opposition to the killing of Palestinians. Everything else just means they're agreeing with Israel. Gaga's and every other millennial pop girl's silence on the matter is indicative of them being in support of Zionists, it's that simple.

Will Gaga pander to Halloween this year?
Why shouldn't she? Gaga's aesthetic and music go well together with Halloween/Spooky season. That doesn't mean she's a Halloween only act as her career is way bigger than that, but it's a time of year where Gaga's music brand fits perfectly with the season.

The Apple Thread

Beyoncé
No but seriously, by the time it finishes, this entire trilogy project will have taken up nearly 10 years of her career and of our time as fans. It's taken up so much space that it feels strange to think about what she'll do next. Like does she just go back to dropping "standalone" studio albums again? Does she have another major, multi-year project in mind? Will she trilogy-ify her other albums like she did with B'Day? Will she step away from solo projects for a while and do more collaborative projects (like another DC album or EIL 2.0)? Like the post-act-3 world is such an enigma.

Highest grossing artist at each NFL stadium: did your fave make it?
The gag. As is expected from the queen of stadiums. First female all-stadium tour ever, most stadium tours by a female artist, all these box office records, Formation tour changing the game in terms of stage design etc etc. What Madonna did for arena shows, Beyoncé has done for stadium shows.

Spice Girls announcement tomorrow at 2pm BST
With how big touring has become post-pandemic, they could probably hold 10 shows at Wembley Stadium if they went on tour again, and likely also sell out a few stadium shows in continental Europe, the main US coastal cities and ofc the rest of the UK. They could definitely gross well over $200M with a short summer tour if they wanted to. Like with the recent Oasis tour, it would be the ticket of that year's touring season.
