After the pannings of Life of a Max Martin Produced Flopgirl: Encore, should Taylor take a substantial hiatus from the music industry to go live her life, have a baby, and get inspired again? atp she has nothing compelling to write about anymore. No breakups. No struggles. No disdain for the media. It seems like being married and making sourdough has made Taylor more boring than ever. Thots?

This. I'd say the blame is mostly on Taylor Swift since she's steering the ship. And it doesn't help that Max has lost his touch. It really is the perfect storm of both parties thinking they can do no wrong and being out of ideas. I'm sure there are no outsiders giving them notes on the music either, making the insular recording process even more out of touch. The deluxe songs sound like slapped together barely-finished demos. Even the album cover is horridly amateur. The tacky, blocky ass glitter font and harsh "cut out" effects that have defined this era tell you everything you need to know. Then the unrelated "stripped down" Encore photoshoot which makes (patient) zero sense to any of the 4 songs or showgirl theme. I hope the deserved lashings are a wakeup call to Taylor.
