Grindr was once a good app for finding hookups. Recently, though, I've had enough of the constant ads. Normally I wouldn't mind paying for premium, but the price is extremely high, around 34 dollars for just one week of unlimited access, especially when it locks basic features that should be free, like read receipts and blocking. I remember when you had three "Explore" options per day, but now it's down to one. On top of that, the lack of proper ID verification allows minors to access the app. At this point, is it time to boycott Grindr?

Grindr was something I used discreetly to talk to new people. I got to talk with people all over the world during the pandemic thanks to Grindr. It was a fun way of saying hi to people you wanna say hi to. And thassit.

I haven't been on it in years. But sex is definitely worth it. Spending hours every day looking for the perfect hook-up was fun. And then you do it all over again.

I think everything is offline now, there is no quality people spending time in dating apps now, they are declining every year in usage and the experience becomes more awful every passing day

Grindr been fell off in my honest opinion… tried Sniffies out & it seems more straight to the point and less hoops to jump through, but still gives toxic energy.

Grindr stopped being relevant like 9 years ago. If you want results, post to your Instagram story. That's the true gay hook-up app.

I've not used it for a while now. There's better alternatives out there depending on what you're looking for. Plus the interface is crap.

Stopped like right before the pandemic using Grindr, but i never met up with anyone on that app it just gives me breeding spot for killers in the back-alley way vibes…

Grindr doesn't really have a strong presence in the pantheon of apps anymore. It's not good for serious dating like Tinder and Hinge and the sex has been completely outflanked by Sniffies.

With that said I did meet my current boyfriend on there so it's not completely worthless

Grindr has been garbage for at least ten years now. There is no point to having that app installed.

Most Grindr alternatives still have the same main issues of Grindr. Just with far fewer users.

I think it really depends where you live. When I visit family back in my hometown, Grindr is awful. It's just full of blank profiles from married 55 y/o dads or people exclusively who want PnP.

In NYC, I still think Grindr is loaded with hot, normal guys (in addition to weirdos too, of course). I'm still able to chat with someone a bit before deciding if we should meet up. I am a bit of a **** sometimes, sure, but I don't just meet up with any old guy at 3am so I can get my apartment robbed or my wallet stolen

Grindr is also still useful to me for those times when I see a hot guy and think, wait, let me see if he's on the grid.

Meanwhile on Sniffies, you can't even get guys to share a face pic before they start demanding you come over right this instant. The lack of face pics as a whole just doesn't do it for me. 80% of profiles are just unflattering pics of ***** or holes. Face, body, and overall vibe are way more important to me, even for a hookup I'm not turned on by cum dumps or any of the other stuff on Sniffies either.

I don't necessarily love Tinder/Hinge etc around me. Even if you set your location preference to a small radius, you end up seeing people who could be 45 minutes away.

Pro-tip for Grindr Xtra: buy a 6-month (or however long) plan and then complain in the App Store that you want a refund because of how glitchy the app is. Usually works

Grindr is the only app along with Hee Say that cater to gay hook up.
