Yes. One man I had a brief romantic thing with back in 2017 ended up crashing his car and dying late one night a few years later. We had not spoken in some time when a friend sent me the news article. When I was away visiting another town for clinicals in graduate school, a couple from Grindr befriended me and invited me over to their place for dinner.
