I have had some run ins with friends before for constantly feeling like the only one initiating plans, I do think it can feel a little frustrating. What I will say is that now I'm a little older I care a lot less and truth be told I'm actually happy only sporadically seeing certain people so it is what it is. But it can definitely feel like you're being taken for granted a little if you're making plans with certain friends 100% of the time. It shows a lack of interest on their behalf.

I kind of hate her doing side gigs like this. I get that this will all likely tie into a Haus Labs skincare line and this is maybe something she's really passionate about, but it invites a level of discourse I find exhausting. I'm admittedly pretty tinfoil hat about AI usage, even for the so-called good, and I respect people who know what they're talking about explaining how this sort of AI is different to generative AI but for people who aren't clued up it just never reads well. Idk, I know this is probably the wrong take to have but it's okay to be a silent partner in some things.

I hope the Mayhem Ball film gets a grander release than just a YouTube drop, too… I know from an accessibility point it's the best platform, but almost all of her peers who've recorded tour films have given them theatrical releases. I'd at least hope it'd get put on a streaming service like Netflix.

As I said above I didn't realise there was merit to the allegations, and I respect that these issues then need to be addressed and investigated in a professional manner, but I still don't think this needed to become such a huge public spectacle. And Cofnas is problematic and definitely had self serving reasons for publishing that substack, considering he's a known white supremacist, he lost his own job at Cambridge a few years ago for those views, and there's many racist dog whistles within that substack he posted. I think when someone is accused of plagiarism and there's merit to those accusations, constructive debate should be expected and even welcomed, but I don't think that was Cofnas' aim by publishing that post a few weeks ago.

If the plagiarism claims have merit then I didn't realise, I thought I had read some of his previous peers had corroborated his work and that an investigation into his work already took place a few years ago at a university in Liverpool and he was cleared of any issue. But maybe I'm mistaken. Regardless I do still think Cofnas is an evil person and considering he's a proud racist, eugenicist and DEI critic, I think there was an ulterior motive to him publishing that substack than simply questioning Arday's credentials.

I don't think anything she's released since coming back has touched the quality or greatness of Come on Over and Up. I could have lived without her last 3 albums if I'm being honest, but fair dos to the people who enjoy them.
