Nobody is going to check for something new from him, but he'll forever be relevant for the career he already had. You can argue that Ariana is an act with a legacy, but she is NOT a legacy act.

Basically, Amazon and Pandora run our charts now. Both are literally just programmed streams and using their own form of Today's Top Hits, but for country music. The entire concept of SPS and streaming's inclusion is literally based on what a song would have grossed if it was released in 2013's market. Billboard is entirely revenue-based, not consumption-based. They're just stupid as **** with it so people don't realize.

SNSD > 2NE1 > aespa > BlackPink > TWICE > LSF. LSF definitely drag down the pairing, but you all let nostalgia blind you into thinking third gen was good. Fourth gen stomped them for a reason.

Then why did Crazy In Love need radio payola to become a hit? Those are not hit album tracks. You're comparing MOWTY, the #1 most streamed album track of the 2000s, and saying that it's more impressive that Beyonce has some album tracks that aren't even top 100 for the 2020s. Obviously the numbers are going to look better - Beyoncé's B-sides had stronger playlisting than Britney singles. But pulling 200M with a 2020s B-side isn't more impressive than pulling 45M with a 2000s B-side.

The Britney album is better, imo, but both are easily 10/10 albums and so I could see how people could pick either one. Laundry Service is more commercially successful and more important to Shakira's career than Britney is to Britney's.

4 was one of the first heavily-playlisted albums on streaming and took advantage of autoplay early. Y'all are rewriting history by not mentioning that.

She literally only has 60 hours to rack up points. It's just not realistic. But she's guaranteed to chart a few albums AND get some new peaks for her songs this week. Hopefully her label pushes her hard on streaming and gets her on some big playlists - it would be nice to see a song like "Faith" go viral in 2026.

The start of 5th gen is clearly ILLIT. Not only did they come through with a huge smash, but they clearly marked a K-pop company pushing out a group to kickstart their next generation of K-pop groups. BabyMonster is the sister group of Treasure and RIIZE are the brother group of Aespa. They're all part of the same Gen. It would make no sense for 1st gen to be 92-03, 2nd gen is 03-12, 12-18 and then fourth gen from 18-23. That's not even the length of a contract

And the beautiful thing is that she owned her masters so a lot of that streaming money is going directly to her charities. A queen in life AND death!

I genuinely think it's a sign of hearing loss. Maybe the frequency of her voice gets missed by some people because I have heard that, too, despite Britney clearly singing over 60% of the song. The point of the song was Britney helping Elton out commercially while Elton was reaching out to Britney to help her out mentally with getting back into recording after the conservatorship. The song is beautiful and it literally serves as a swan song and the final recorded track in Britney's career. Let's not downplay her.

Baby, you didn't need to go through all of this since the post you quoted already addressed your post and provided the context you're lacking. You're comparing Sabrina's sales + impressions to just Miley's sales. These are NOT comparable. The post you quoted just showed Miley's insane popularity with children and that one of her Hannah Montana songs alone had over 3B+ impressions just across premieres of new episodes. Sabrina's popularity was reflected better by the charts because the charts were more comprehensive at the time, allowing every impression to count for the chart and boost her chart performance. Miley didn't have that benefit but, if she did, she would clearly be above Sabrina. Sabrina didn't have the fame of the Hannah Montana era. Also, PLEASE stop using the monoculture excuse. Every generation claims that monoculture died with the generation before it. It's an excuse that's older than Madonna (and that's not a drag - just a point of reference).

For comparison's sake, imagine what Hannah Montana's streaming numbers would look like if television ratings were counted as "views" on YouTube. For example, Hannah Montana's lowest average per season across its entire run was 3.5M viewers. With 98 episodes, "Best Of Both Worlds," the opening theme, would have been viewed AT LEAST 3.43B times. And that's not counting re-runs or any plays outside of the intro. The song would be over 2x Diamond just off of plays from episode premieres
