Yes. One man I had a brief romantic thing with back in 2017 ended up crashing his car and dying late one night a few years later. We had not spoken in some time when a friend sent me the news article. The ecosystem surrounding Hermes and buying Birkins is weird too. They aren't available for sale unless you get on their list and the only way to do so is by buying thousands of dollars worth of clothing and accessories and establishing a good relationship with a sales associate, which sometimes can apparently take years? And even then some of the really rare / expensive Birkins are only offered to select clients through god-knows-what kind of criteria

There's like an order of magnitude difference between something like a Chanel bag and a Birkin. Chanels costs thousands but Birkins usually start at 10s of thousands and can get up to 100s of thousands of dollars for rare ones
