Yes. One man I had a brief romantic thing with back in 2017 ended up crashing his car and dying late one night a few years later. We had not spoken in some time when a friend sent me the news article. When I was away visiting another town for clinicals in graduate school, a couple from Grindr befriended me and invited me over to their place for dinner. We ended up having a threesome and then I kept in (somewhat inconsistent) touch with one of them for a year or two after. It was a little awkward because it was clear they were not doing well romantically and I jokingly mentioned to a friend after that I thought for sure they weren't going to last. Sure enough, they broke up, and the one I didn't keep in contact with was recently on the news within the last year for getting caught with child porn in his house he's looking at like 20 years in prison

We were robbed of a parallel universe where this man never burdened us by running for president and instead had a mainstay role on network television making nasty one-liners about attendees at red carpet events. He could have been evil in just a fruity way and the world would be such a beautiful place.

The ecosystem surrounding Hermes and buying Birkins is weird too. They aren't available for sale unless you get on their list and the only way to do so is by buying thousands of dollars worth of clothing and accessories and establishing a good relationship with a sales associate, which sometimes can apparently take years? And even then some of the really rare / expensive Birkins are only offered to select clients through god-knows-what kind of criteria

There's like an order of magnitude difference between something like a Chanel bag and a Birkin. Chanels costs thousands but Birkins usually start at 10s of thousands and can get up to 100s of thousands of dollars for rare ones
