I honestly think the whole sales discussion around her is completely redundant in 2026 Her vs Madonna or other big artists in terms of quality or impact is definitely a more challenging discussion

With the money she has, she can do a lot more with side gigs and investments and protect her legacy Releasing slop every year really really destroys your brand The most remembered artists have a quality discography Her fanbase hates to hear this but what makes you a legend is quality, impact and influence No one cares about how much MJ or the beatles sold, but the legacy they left behind

Well taste is something people develop through experience and introspection too Pulling a yearly album doesn't let her develop her art properly She needs more time pass, experience stuff and then transform it to art

This is actually a positive thread about her I think Taylor will soon be the biggest female commercial artist all time But her breaking new records are becoming less relevant and exciting Last year she opened with 4.2 million copies and no one cared, honestly not even her fans cared that much, a lot of them were mortified with the bad music, others continue pretending the album was good Imo if she wants to shock people she needs to pull really good music even better than Folklore/Evermore, that's were she will gain more respect from people In general than selling albums. There is a disconnect between how successful she is and how her music is being really perceived by people in general outside her die hard fans who applaud her for breathing Releasing every 2-3 years and releasing really good music is the only path for her Hopefully the deluxe is a step in the right direction and not more of the same of what TLOAS was last year, but honestly she needs a break, commercially there's no one to compete anymore.
