Just had a look at The Devil Wears Prada 2 and in less than three hours of tickets going on sale... its already sold more than Wuthering Heights did in its first pre-sales day (this is including the "Opening Night Fan Event" showings).

And this is both without IMAX and with a much longer pre-sales window. 

By the end of today, it could just sell more than The Housemaid did in its entire pre-sale run. 

The first day of Devil wears Prada already passes Beetlejuice 2!

For Devil I'll be able to make comparisons tomorrow, but I agree with most people here: tickets are selling too fast, and I don't think it will be very frontloaded. Possibly the best first few hours I've seen since Wicked 2, and not far off. 

I feel like the floor could be $10M/80M

Yes. There was time for GoE to be released on album release day but I get that Abracadabra was the one they wanted to concentrate on. But it could've been a single in April when Abracadabra was dying down.

Yes. And it would've had it been a direct sequel in the same tone and vibe and teasing a third and final one after the second Batman movie with Robert Pattinson in the batsuit. A Batman vs. Joker third and final movie for both franchises as a bonus. But no sir because we had to make it a musical.

As much as I know we hate Toad Syphilis, I have to give him a pat on the back ig for releasing a movie that upset the incels so much

I don't think the musical aspect, it's more that it's a hopeless and miserable in tone tbh, (& the dire ending).

Haven't watched the film but I think the issue is not that he tried something bold against expectations and shat all over the incels, the issue is that the movie was of poor quality
