It wasn't poor quality. It was well crafted, well performed but a bit of a mess script wise and not up to fan expectations.

JFAD looked cute and had good performances but the script could barely justify 15 minutes of plot let alone 2 hours. Which would be less egregious if the musical numbers were inspired but they were lame ripoffs of 70s musicals

Incels misunderstood the first Joker movie and turned Joker into a far right symbol. That if society forgets about you, you can go on a killing spree and become an icon.

Todd's main goal of JFAD was to take back the narrative. The film reviews the events of the first movie and goes out its way to depict Joker as a depressing mentally ill loser that is taken advantage of, not the audacious rebel audiences created

The reception to JFAD is very meta. The audience wanted him to kill and be a bad guy they could cheer on, but instead Todd unmasked their hero as a sad man that likes to sing and audiences hated him for it

In a lot of ways JFAD depicts what is wrong with the US. No one wants a serious educated leader, they want a loud crazy clown that will be entertaining, with no concern of the consequences

Because after her surprise appearance at Bad Bunny's SBHTS, that certain fandom bullied her (I remember someone explaining it already in here but got firebacked because they found out their fav wore the shirt, someone said it, go back pages to read again) and now, all fandoms of different artists finally have realised that oh, so the problem is them. Thank you though, the relationship between us with Swifties are back. Back in 2022-2024, it was really bad but um yeah. Also that certain fandom bullied other fanbases, so I just wanna say karma is a cat 😺

JFAD was amazing visually and the actors did a great job too, the problem was the script, the movie was so slow paced and it had more musical numbers than needed, I love to hear Gaga sing but even I was like "ENOUGH" to me it felt like they didn't have a story strong enough to make a whole movie out of it so they decided to add musical numbers just for the sake of it (some are amazing tho, but some are just fillers)

Thank Liza Gaga never agreed to do that BRIDE! movie by Maggie Gyllenhaal. It's basically TEMU JFAD.

It's rumored that she was, and I really believe it tbh. The character design felt very Gaga coded, multiple scenes were reminiscent of Harley and the Joker, and one scene was basically a recreation of a Gaga scene from AHS: Hotel.

It's complicated because overall the movie didn't work for me at all but some people I know who aren't even LMs loved it. I do think what it had to say was very interesting and it has some great scenes. All the actors do a great job but a lot of it just doesn't land. Like it's a musical (regardless of what Todd says) but most of the musical sequences are dreary and boring. I think the fandom were always going to hate it for being and musical and for the criticism specifically of their interpretation of the character but it doesn't have much for people who like musicals either. Imo it should have been more camp it should have been less obvious what was real and what wasn't and Gaga should have had more to do.

So last year she won 3 AMAs, niceeee
