The real answer to this is that the problem is you. Not sombr nor this song. You're getting older and older therefore you're not main demographic. I would add that the industry obviously changed and the stuff that made songs iconic in your eyes (music videos, performances, etc) also aren't the center of the cultural landscape anymore.
