Exactly. It feels like she's trying to be deliberate about how the Mayhem era is officially over now and whatever music released next is tied to a completely different era.

I'd also argue that the DWAS Requiem post tagging Aardvarksky was purposeful too for similar reasons - the music she releases next may be even more inspired by that sound/aesthetic and she wants to make sure no one else tries it with the rip-off allegations.

I'm going to say something that might be controversial, but I honestly hope Gaga works with different graphic studios for the next era. I haven't been a huge fan of some of the recent visual work, especially the merch. A lot of it feels strangely fan-made or overly customized, without the level of polish you'd expect from a project of this scale. With Chromatica, on the other hand, the entire visual identity, the merch, graphics, packaging, everything, felt incredibly cohesive and refined. It all looked intentional and high quality.

I agree with this also. But they didn't have to be so literal and do it by killing it on the charts with the live version sksks

It's also interesting that she chose to make the biggest highlights and uploaded Killah and DWAS only from Requiem. They are also the only two songs that use interpolations. She's not slick. In my mind, LG.ATE exists in the spectrum between those two genres and we are not ready.

I'm wondering what stage the album creation is at. Like, she's been working on it since last fall. She's also been busy with touring and other stuff tho.

The only explanation I can think of for why she never released a physical version of MAYHEM containing the three known bonus tracks plus the songs with hidden lyrics from the website is that LG8 might be much closer than we think. Maybe that was the original plan at some point, but the moment she realized the next album cycle could arrive sooner than anyone expected, she decided to hold back and leave room for what's coming next instead

Inb4 she really is teasing her self-produced era and those two songs are examples of what's to come…

Well, it's over rip

The fact Gaga felt the need to draw a clear line under the 'Mayhem' era. 'LG8' campaign starting this year. Weekend collab August, First single October, Second single February 2027, Album March 2027.

Let's Go, Gaga!

she fed us well for mayhem, truly. you can't ask for any more.

i don't think the next era will be as crazy with schedule, which is fine. she can't keep that up.

I don't think there was an intention to kickstart a new chapter. She probably felt really grateful for the amount of love and success this era was, and that she completed a tour with zero health challenges along the way (that cold she once had was a minor issue, she quickly bounced back). So she put a dignified bookend to an era for once in a long time.

I think the earliest we can expect a lead single is in November and the album in March or April of next year. I also don't think she will tour until 2028. I think she probably just wants to put the album out and rest. I wouldn't expect the same amount of promo that MAYHEM received. Maybe a performance on SNL, a one-off concert (ie: Harlequin and Requiem) maybe two music videos and honestly that's more than enough since she gave us so much for MAYHEM. We all know she will go all out for the tour anyway.

If she's done with creating sounds as outfits for albums, my only wish for Elle Gay(t) is TIMELESS and CLASSIC

U mad bro?

She said it's not her best work.

Why you seething out of nowhere?

Gaga will never pull a Milegend and diss her old work but mother does it in her own way. From what I can gather her priorities after ASIB were her mental health and navigating drinking too much and finding a partner. Having to do music was too much for her and now she's where she is with mayhem she can go back and see and feel the difference.

People thinking the website change means LG8 is coming sooner than expected, when really she put it on her website after seeing Zombieboy streams tick up and didn't want liddos getting confused about the era being done.

Sorry to inform you Bryan, but the delulu train is moving full speed ahead, currently in transit and the final destination is LG.ATE in a few months.

the journey continues ⚔️❤️

On a serious note, idk if it's "soon" or imminent enough as in this year but one thing's for certain she's not taking a 4-5 year break. Either it will be a lead in fall/album spring 2027 type situation a la Godhem or the rollout starts next year as she takes the rest of the year to finish everything up.

Just to add ashes to the fire I think they intentionally kept TDWP2 soundtrack as part of the Mayhem era so that LG8 is a fresh start. If she didn't have new music coming out soon-ish she could've "killed" Mayhem before TDWP2 as that was it's own mini era. Instead she barely acknowledged it and made sure it fit at the tail-end on Mayhem era.
