The song is the perfect example of how she became a parody of herself. 

It did fine? Not everything has to be a 6 week #1. Also, it is the most explicit single she's released, it was always going to be "too much" for some parts of the GP.

 

Nonetheless, the song is fantastic and there's a few others on the album that seem to be catching on, there's more hits to come. 

 

She is the new Madonna, she's a hit maker, it's just that the song isn't it, this would be Causing a commotion for Madonna (OMG now some old gays will kill mayyyyyyy)

Eh, it's #25 on Spotify without the Taylor tracks. It's doing well. Just not on the level of Espresso/PPP

 

Same applies to Manchild and When Did You Get Hot. All 3 are hits, just not smashes

Yea, Tears wasn't a flop by any means. WDYG? could rlly become THE smash of the album tho, Sabrina needs to do something for it

Didn't it go viral on Tiktok due to a trend? I thought it's doing okay, though not the smash we all expected

i read this page for 5 minutes trying to remember which Tears is this thread about and I only listened to it once so

mid song compared to Taste I actually forgot what the entire album sounds like

I love Sabrina and the album Mans Best friend but I find tears to be one of the least catchy  songs on the album. I was surprised she chose it as a single.

It's a cute song but i'm hoping for the third single

It came in #3 on the BB Hot 100. gAyTRL told us that a top 10 hit is all that matters.

Tears is her best single since Espresso. It's by far better than PPP, Taste or Manchild, but I guess I get what you mean.. 

 

OT: It would've smashed if it was released as the lead single. Instead she kept the better song for 2nd single, which doesn't always work well, sometimes it can sell teh album yes, but in this case I don't think Tears had the impact it could've had as the lead single. 

The video is honestly really weird. It definitely damaged her chances

taste still reigns supreme as her best single i fear. nothing on this album except nobodys son is as effortlessly melodic as taste is ((love the album tho. surpasses short n sweet for me))

House Tour kind of picking up for me 

The song isn't all that, it sounds like a mainstream 3rd single with 7.5/10 quality

It's a more mature "Espresso" "Diana Ross Like" but It's not catchy enough. 

Good song though

it's just boring.. as the whole album unfortunately
