it's def been to preserve her vocals for wicked. she has kept her technique a lot healthier so she doesnt do her acrobatics and belt as much. now that wicked is coming to a close, i think we will start seeing a little more of beltiana in future projects. we already saw some of her in supernatural and true story.

consistent relevance and success > monumental peaks. wicked's massive critical success put ariana in leagues far higher than what her haters want to admit. shes a household name. and she got there bc of her talent not everything is measured through numbers that being said, OP: it was a huge moment when it debuted, lets not lie. however, in the long run it ended up losing steam bc of ariana pretty much ending the era the moment it dropped will never forgive her for not milking it. it ended up behind a few other eras due to this. hence why it may not feel AS big
