Tears undeperformed, why?

It's too explicit for the GP, I think.

None of the songs on the album really scream hit single like Short n Sweet did. She should come back in 2027 with a stronger album

I do think Taylor being active probably hurts her. It's a great song! One of my favorite singles from her.

It's one of the songs I like the most, but there's a severe lack of infectious choruses on that entire album compared to her previous one. As others have already said none of the songs screams smash hit. I think it did fine all things considered.

Horrible song by a horrible artist. In another era she'd be a one hit wonder with Espresso being considered a fun novelty song, but in today's apocalyptic marketplace she's able to ride the wave longer. Probably diminishing returns though.

it also felt like the Short n Sweet era never ended so Tears is performing like a pointless 7th single.

The album and manchild also underperformed. So no surprise. It's mostly Swifties streaming her so they're busy rn

The song gets old very quick but it's still a cute bop and the album as a whole is still doing good daily numbers so it's fine

Overshadowed by TLOASG, album rushed released after S&S with not strong enough content, single too explicit for the GP (it's quite rare for such an explicit song to do well from a pop girlie), the hook also isn't strong enough. Nobody Son was the obvious second single but I fear the ship has sailed

Sounds like she could still use a tissue 🤧

or a tampon

I love the song and I still play it a lot (and the album as well), but I think the song is too horny and not in a very subtle way like some of her other songs, so I can see why it didn't resonate with the public. Being said that, I think House Tour would have been a better single...It's still horny but much more subtle.

She's a decade i think into her career with 8 or 9 i think albums under her belt

this is fine I think

The song is very similar to what she's released before so the sound is a bit tiring for her. She needs to try something new in terms of sound.

This! Close the thread!

I honestly think she's becoming too over exposed for the GP. I swear it feels like she already hosted SNL 3 times this year. I love Sabrina and her two albums but she's not actually very funny. She's too afraid to make ugly faces to be a comedian; her face is just sooo stiff. I thought she would be funnier because of her lyrics

Like many said, it's too explicit. WDYGH and Nobody's Son could be doing better right now but her team is not moving on to single 3 yet

Yeah. You know what? I love sexually explicit music, but even the Spotify banner of Selena Gomez rn with the booty shorts made the supervisor at work change the screen. Someone like Selena really plays with the line and crosses it when she can. Sabrina is also playing this game. And I love that for them. My favs are my favs.

House Tour next single would slap. Nobody's Son has been growing on me tho.

Yes, her latest SNL episode was generally horrible but there were a few sketches she could have made funnier just by being a bit sillier in her delivery. She doesn't have it.

The way Sabrina pauses between each word in the chorus makes it sound very choppy.

it actually performed catastrophically as a second single from her anticipated "sophomore" record. Luckily she is shaping up to be a bit of an album's artists so far so it's not a kiss of death situation like it would be for other popgirls who depend on singles. The song just felt like it was crafted to be a hit and sometimes that doesn't work. Gen Z & Alpha are kinda smart when it comes to intention. They can bop to a song like that on tiktoks and make edits and dances but doesnt mean theyll stream it beyond that especially because it is SO obviously crafted to be a hit / lacks personality

It's the Peacock.mp3 of the 20s and just like that song it was too ahead of its time
