'A Girl Like Me' & 'Rated R' are the only Rihanna albums with no 1B+ song. Surprised?
AGLM is her worst album so idc, but Rated R is her best and nearly all of those songs deserve 100 billion

Why does this 11-week Billboard Top 5 song only have 169m streams on Spotify?
OP is so boring, you have to at least make it funny or interesting and it's always neither

Daya, Alessia Cara, Tove Lo… what went wrong?
I do feel like Tove Lo should be excluded from this conversation, because after Stay High she managed to find her niche and be successful at that. Daya was never meant to last; she's the essential "hook girl", sorry to say. Alessia is the more interesting case because she did have everything to be a pop girl contender. Her fall off is one to be studied.

TB: Stevie clocks Katy when asked about who her "music rivals" are
Nnnn I'll always remember this because what an absolute read from Stevie. In 2014, the only real beef Katy had was with Taylor (and even then, the whole tour dancers thing was so isolated between them). Anything else was made up in her own mind.

Taylor Swift
No way she's missing the 20th anniversary of Debut. She can finally say all of her albums were #1 (as they all should've been all along!!).
- Whose side were you on in the Lana - Ethel Cain feud?

Do you shade your own faves?
Exactly. I've said this almost verbatim on ATRL before. Sometimes, your fave just releases sh*t.
-
Do you shade your own faves?
Yes, you simply can't pretend that everything your fave has ever done is flawless. That's ridiculously mentally ill parasocial behavior to the max. Of course I'm gonna clown Taylor for Lover and Showgirl. Of course I'm gonna clown Lana for Chemtrails and QFTC.

Sabrina Carpenter
MBF being all I've been listening to this weekend. The most under appreciated mainstream pop releases this decade, and genuinely in my top 3 pop albums this decade.

Mariah Carey tells fan new songs will come "soon, next year"
We need another Caution, not the mess HFIA was. But more importantly, we need for her to be okay, and I think it's very clear that she hasn't been these past few years. I get that she might not physically be up to running around onstage in stilettos anymore, but the fact that she needs assistance to simply walk from point A to point B when she's out and about (or at least so it seems) and appears out of it in interviews is worrying. I've been saying her pen and sense of good r&b-pop isn't done yet, and Caution was proof of that. No amount of 'vocal decline' can take those away from her. However, the most important thing is that she feels okay enough to commit to another album.
