I wasn't thrilled at the venue but highkey the wedding seemed perfect. It was buzzy and iconic enough to warrant conversations for decades but also still private and intimate. As expected, they did transform the MSG into the most beautiful venue ever. The fact that there's much been so much buzz and we haven't even seen the bride and groom yet. Also a GREAT thing to not have a magazine spread/partnership for the wedding.

Lesson learned: never doubt Tayplanner.

The "head" in question is a board member of an incredibly massive company that has a government contract with an ICE facility. The same company has an enormous amount of government contracts and did so before the Trump administration. They have also done lots of good work. We have nothing directly linking this man with ICE.

Furthermore, he is the father of one of Travis' childhood friends. I think people are so unbelievably dishonest about how they would handle these types of situations in their own lives. Do we really think that Taylor would've forced a background check on every guest Travis wanted to invite to HIS OWN WEDDING? I ****ing hate that, "Y'all think she's a mastermind until you don't want her to be," thing people keep posting. It's so stupid. No, I don't think Taylor told her fiancé that they needed to do a detailed, PR-ready background check on the family of his childhood best friend. I also don't think that this would've even been considered news worthy for another pop girl! People found some information they could wildly misrepresent to make Taylor look bad and ran with it.

I think the whole thing is pretty pathetic. The users circle jerking in that thread are all the usual suspects and don't care about anything aside from trying to find a way to drag Taylor. Just going to continue ignoring it.

It's actually crazy how much it reminds me of the MAGA playbook. Find some shreds of truth you can twist into the narrative you want to spin. Intentionally spread misinformation and aggressively attack anyone who tries to set any aspect of the record straight, even in a neutral way. Even if it doesn't change their mind, their hostility at having blatant misinformation corrected tells you everything you need to know about their motivations.

Nicki Minaj is going to conventions to chat with Erika Kirk and spew anti-Trans nonsense, publicly meeting with Trump, sits on Twitter to spew homophobic and transphobic nonsense, married a murderer/rapist and has tried to silence and intimidate his victim.

Taylor's husband invited his close childhood friend's family to their wedding, and the father is on the board for an engineering company that has a contract with the federal government and worked as contractors for the construction of an ICE camp.

If you want to have a discussion in good faith, be my guest. Travis (and Taylor) should have done background checks on this stuff and cut off his invite. But acting like these two are remotely in the same boat is losing the plot.

I feel like we're underestimating just how popular and famous Taylor is among seniors?

I had a sweet conversation with my grandma today (she's 91 and European!) and she knew every little fact about the wedding. "Did you hear the Empire State lit up for her! Paul McCartney performed, and even Hugh Grant was there!"

I had to ask how she knew all this, because she's definitely not on social media at all. Turns out she's signed up to some (trashy) e-mail newsletter on her IPad that apparently every lady in her card-playing community (of ~100 local women) is reading. Every single day they receive news on Taylor, along with mostly news about royals and anti-Trump ragebait. But Taylor is featured in every e-mail.

My grandmother was obsessed with Hollywood in the 40's and 50's and even sent fan mail to her favorite actors (she was an OG stan!). Taylor's love for Elizabeth T goes straight to her heart. She also knew all about Tom Hanks signing her Toy Story tape, the Spielberg induction and the Joe/Matty drama. Her senior friends are all "in love" with Travis.

I feel like maybe this explains a small part of the massive, Adele-like pure sales that her first weeks have been pulling lately? It's a demographic that's almost invisible online but still buys physical albums.

I've seen a take on the internet today that kinda explains the situation around Taylor. And I think it's a very smart take so I wanted to share it.

Everyone is arguing around Taylor Swift... again. "Attention seeker", "ethical billionaire"... And while they all bring up very valid points, I think everyone is analyzing the wrong thing. Depending on where you are on the internet this week, she is either a genius or she's everything that's wrong with modern celebrity culture. Now, here's why I find that fascinating because I don't actually think the conversation is about Taylor Swift anymore. I think it's about what happens when a woman actually stops being seen as a person and she starts being seen as an archetype.

So one of the biggest misconception about fame is that people think the goal is to be liked. It isn't. You see, the moment someone becomes culturally iconic, they stop existing as one-dimensional human beings in the public's imagination, and they become symbols. And symbols are incredibly dangerous. And that's because symbols don't belong to the people who embody them. They belong to the people interpreting them. That's why millions of people can watch the exact same Taylor Swift interview and walk away with completely different conclusions. One person will see her as a hopeless romantic, another sees a very calculated businesswoman, another sees a feminist... and we're all looking at the same woman. But they're not actually responding to Taylor, they respond to the story they've attached to her, and that's projection.

Projection is one of the least understood psychological forces in branding. We like to believe we see people objectively, but we don't. We never do. We see them through our own experiences, our beliefs, our fears, our values, our aspirations. The people we admire become mirrors, and the people we dislike are also mirrors too. And Taylor Swift has become one of the biggest mirrors in modern culture. She represents ambition, success, femininity, power, wealth, romance but she also represents celebrity, capitalism, and art... all at once. Which means millions of people are constantly projecting their own beliefs onto her.

Once your brand becomes meaningful, people stop seeing you, and they start seeing themselves through you. The real price is accepting that once you become a symbol, you no longer get to control what other people see.

And so maybe, reflect on that before trying to change people's opinion on her. Even facts that go against their beliefs won't change them.

I do think Taylor is a little un-cancellable at this point because swifties are like half the world's population and people don't care about celebrities like that anymore. The focus is ok politicians and there's too much going on in the world.

Something like 2016 is never gonna happen again to Taylor, she's way too unbothered at this point.

The funny thing is that the big thing about MAGA is their consistent denial of facts and science. Yet these losers are doing the same, they are so enthused by their alternative theories and assumptions about Taylor that if you actually correct them with FACTS, you are the bad guy .

And the hissy fits these people are throwing in HQ and all over the forum over demanding the rights to hate her even more and more and more ... And for what? Literally no one is going to care about this in 2 weeks, everyone will have moved on to the next scandal. They really think they are doing something meaningful by downvoting supportive Taylor posts.

Jobs and lives are severely needed. But of course doing faux social activism in the name of hating Taylor Swift is their full time job at this point.
