  1. I think she just...is. She likes to work and loves what she does. You can tell how important her music is to her.
  2. I agree with this. Most of the photoshoot is giving depression, internal crisis, etc. The cover shot honestly only clicked for me once I actually heard the album (especially Guilty As Sin)...it sets the scene of her feeling trapped in a dead relationship while thirsting over someone else. But most of it is pretty simple and fits imo. I honestly wish she explored more of the 20's silent film/gothic aesthetic that the Fortnight video sits in, but oh well.
  3. Because the songs, overall, were less about her and more about storytelling. She was less of a central figure in the stories of those albums than she normally is.
  4. evermore's photoshoot was perfect. Listening to songs like tis the damn season, marjorie, cowboy like me, right where you left me, dorothea etc with these visuals in mind just took me somewhere, which was so welcome during Covid. I love how wintery it felt too. Something about a song like dorothea especially made me think of a bonfire in a setting exactly like the cover shot. I loved folklore's too, it was basically the same thing but summer. Midnights was deceiving before we heard the music, but having sat with the album a few years, I think a lot of it fits (especially the shots of her in the dark, the ones with the basketball jersey, the white tee, the sparkly eyeshadow etc). It fits that nighttime, moody vibe pretty well (especially knowing there was a lot more tension in her life than we knew at the time). The pics with the wurlitzer threw people off (even though there is a song with wurlitzer on the album), but yeah. TTPD is fine too, it's pretty simple but works. Showgirl is the only one I'd say is deceiving. There are some songs on the album that have a Born to Die esque sort of retro, luxurious, swanky New York element to them (Elizabeth Taylor, Father Figure and Cancelled mainly) and some of the pics fit that vibe (the ones of her in the gold dress, the hotel room, etc)...but all of the ones of her in showgirl getup don't really fit any of the music
  5. The way I just realized I never knew Gabriette's last name I kinda hate that the paps can't leave people alone for stuff like this
  6. Yeah I'm loving this It's infectious and she sounds phenomenal on it, sounds like it would've fit right in on Stronger! I do wish the production had a touch more edge to it but it's a big improvement over Where Have You Been so I'll take it!
  7. I mean yeah, it was a tired slut shaming joke about her she had been hearing since she was 17. She had every right to stand up for herself.
  8. Including these for Rihanna and not Gaga is....
  9. That's sad, I thought they were a cute couple. It is really odd that he now has two songs by prominent artists written about two different relationships of his, and both ended
  10. Not that we didnโ€™t know, but
