The same woman who has gone against the foundation of the industry in which she works just so that she could claim ownership of her life's work, but somehow it's always a man dictating her moves.

I also dislike Showgirl, but it's the result of the artists in the room (Taylor, Max & Shellback), not Travis ******* Kelce.

i don't actually disagree with this - i like evermore less anyway, it has much more of the chunky knitted sweater rock vibes that i dislike about the national but that's besides my point. my distinct antipathy to it is that, coming out so soon after folklore, it kinda reeks of "what else have we got?" which has been the vibe around all the sub-albums (3am, anthology, all the vault tracks) since and there's just this point for me where there's too much taylor?

like, when she's bringing out album after album including the TVs and releasing lots of stuff within that that she's labelling as lesser material then i feel like sometimes i need to have a break and wait for the next proper one, or give myself time to go back to classics that i missed (i started with taylor round about lover so i've always had things to catch up with)

one of the things about doing so many b-side releases is that at least back in the day they were actually on the b-side of something and you'd have heard one or two of these songs here and there, but now there are whole chunks of this stuff and it just gets a bit much. i expect i'm missing some of the standout tracks (eg the one on red with phoebe bridgers was really good) but the last few years really have been a bit relentless
