In every Swiftie space I frequent, TTPD is generally highly regarded. When people share their rankings, its pretty rare that I see it ranked low on her discography - and when it is, usually there's a note about rating it that way because it is a combined album and the person only likes side A or side B. Couldn't be me, though. Almost all of my plays are TTPD (and Midnights). I was thinking earlier about how despite loving Fearless -> 1989, I tend to stick towards listening to her latest albums unless I'm feeling deeply nostalgic. Still remember walking a couple miles since I didn't have a car to get the Red deluxe physical the day it came out and getting a Red shirt.

I think the og album is much much stronger than the bonus tracks, bc they sound like they werent even meant for the album (except maybe Paris) but I still enjoyed them

3 AM tracks are great but they definitely don't give Midnights vibe except Dear Reader which should've been the closer of standard edition instead of mastermind.

3 am tracks are good…except The Great War. And it was one of my surprise songs.

3am was cute and all, and it has some incredible songs, but The Anthology is still to this day in my top three albums ever with Evermore and Red. Every second of it is so good, it has such incredible career highlights in songs like I Hate It Here and The Prophecy - genuinely one of the things I'm most furious about is that toxic critic discourse from around its release may lead to us never getting another album like it. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Sufjan Stevens, to the extent that I think he might be becoming my second favorite artist, and The Anthology more than any other piece of work including Folklore shares musical DNA with his best works. Mostly tripped back, focusing on guitar and piano as instrumentation, evocative poetic lyricism (and I mean actually poetic, too, the way that some people like to pretend TTPD as a whole isn't!), strong melodies, and the analysis of deeply held fears and personal challenges - even if perhaps masked a little more in a veneer of pseudo-fiction than an album like, say, Carrie & Lowell.

Like, miss Anthology is an ALBUM. And to add to all that, the fact that it arguably takes Evermore's crown as the least known project of her career makes it even sweeter. Like Evermore, it's not something that everyone knows hits from, it's forced to live in the shadow of its older sibling, and I think it's fascinating that it has both those real world parallels and also the sonic, lyrical, and thematic parallels.

The Anthology is still its own separate thing in my Apple library, and I still maintain that secretly it's more of an Evermore sister than Folklore was or than TTPD is to it. God I hope she does more work in that space. I honestly dream that after she's tired of the big commercial success, if that ever happens at all, she goes back into that world with the Dessners, Justin Vernon, Phoebe, Lucy, and if she ever sees fit to give me the best thing ever, Sufjan. I posture a bit as a country Taylor stan because of the nostalgia and the brilliant work she did with her first four albums, and I adore the idea of her finally going back now for a million reasons, but she fit so insanely perfectly into that alternative, folk, Americana kind of world that I can't help but see it as where she would most belong in the long term.

Since I see yall are talking about the diaper wearing chanteuse I watched the Fatano interview and....can I say that baldie was being kinda creepy with Olivia? The sexual comments...the mustache flirting moment....yuck! Felt like he has a crush on her which could also explain why is such a fangirl and why he keeps coming at Taylor for absolutely no reason and makes VERY personal and loaded criticisms about Taylor....also they confirmed they have a line of contact in the dms and stuff so wouldnt be shocked if he talks to her about Taylor....YIKES. Can't believe how bad this interview makes both of them look.
