11 studio albums and 4 re-recordings in and there is no sign at all of decline, rather a peak 18 years into her career. Every artist has a flop/decline at some point. Madonna, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Gaga, Britney. 

 

Do you think Taylor is ever gonna flop? Or does she have too big of a fanbase for it to happen at all?

Evermore opened with 329K first week, I don't think she'll ever debut lower than that in her career.

 

I can't even ever see her going lower than 500K again, even in 15-20 years.

 

I think she'll always have her albums debut with 500K+ and the leads go #1 (as long as the timing is right)

She has been one of the  most consistent artist for sure.

And I'm positive neither reputation and Debut TVs will top 2.6M first week.

The online stan hate campaign (which ALWAYS translates into real life) will cause her to decline 80% next album. Opening with a measly 520K 

No but I feel she reached the very high point of her career peak in 2023 and 2024. Given that her catalog started falling off by bit, I see that she will slowly get to normal success in future years.

I'm fairly certain every artist has had a flop/underperformance 

I think she has at least another 6-7 years of success in her 

Nothing lasts forever, so yes, eventually she'll pull numbers that will be considered "underwhelming" or even "bombing".

 

But by that time, she'll be so deep into her career that the numbers she'll get will still be considered great for an artist in her 40s/50s/60s etc.

Hopefully yes.

 

As long as that cult of hers keeps buying everything she puts out without an ounce of taste, it won't happen soon.

I don't think she will ever flop-flop. Only if she'd do something SUPER controversial but I have a feeling that she will retire sooner. I can actually see her retire from her recording career in a few years.

Her rabid cult followers can't prevent the public opinion from shifting against her (on the contrary, they give her a deservedly bad name). Surely, they'll keep on throwing coins and streams her way, but we can all agree it's rather obvious that that's not enough for her. She wants to have a monopoly over the entire music industry which is ridiculous and, thankfully, unachievable in the grand scheme of things. As pretty much every popstar before her, she, too, will go out of fashion. What goes up must come down, it's just a matter of time. 

Even her "flop" eras come with major asterisks. Lover was her first album to miss 1M in a decade and didn't spawn a #1 hit but is glued to the top of the charts and obviously had Cruel Summer. evermore's shitty opening was only from digital downloads (the weakest pure medium at this point) and streaming units, and to many is just considered a folklore b-side, and even then spawned a hit and is comfortably moving several thousand copies a week. 

 

There will be a point in which Taylor flops, it happens to literally everyone. I think we're pretty far off from that point, but to assume this will continue forever at this rate is naive. That said, I will enjoy the ride while it lasts 

You mean in an "Evermore" sort of way? Very much possible in the distant future. 

 

But, if you mean in a Smile, Britney Jean, or Bionic sort of way, there's no chance of that happening anytime soon. 

To be honest, no. Maybe when she dies or retires and stop releasing albums, but I don't think she will ever fall off completely while still active. Even If she just remains as a legacy act doing successful global tours and selling relatively well like other legends out there. 

I think she will start seeing bad numbers by ts15 or ts16. Before that, she will sell more than anyone else by a wide margin.

But there will be an era were most of the GP hates her and the fanbase will keep the numbers up, like Reputation but more extreme

 

I think the public is turning on her, but swifties will always keep her relevant, cause they are too many

She tried acting and she flopped tho. She's too marketed as a singer. I think she will pursue directing after music and I don't think she will go past TS12/TS13

Then you clearly don't know Taylor Swift at all. She is like Barbra and pumping out albums well into her 80s.

She hasn't really ""tried"" acting in the way you're insinuating. She's pretty much always intentionally only accepted minor roles. Acting is just a fun gig to take on since she has the means to do so. It's not really what she wants to pursue. you're correct about directing though, she already has a contract for a green lit film that she's supposed to begin working on once the Eras Tour ends.
