The R&B/Pop Trio debuted 4 years ago and have put out one EP & 2 Albums. Yet no song from them has truly stuck, even though multiple of their songs have gone mega viral.

Their debut set them up nicely with respectable numbers and high acclaim, but their new album is doing even worse than their debut with a bigger budget and more promo… what is going awn.

I stopped paying attention to them after that twitter post about no stylist in London wanting to work with them because they've all been stiffed. I love girl groups but it made me think that they were too messy and would probably break up soon in a messy way. I will check out their album though and potentially dip back in because I like what I've heard so far

The music is simply not good enough.

I love their music, but I fear they are too focused on becoming global if that makes sense.

They are a UK group, but have not secured any UK top 10 single while they have enough commercial leaning songs that on paper should do it. Like for example Remedied on paper should be able to do something, it is in the same lane as Where Is My Husband but didn't even charted.

I am not saying this is the whole 'problem' but it doesn't help them since they have no core market to fall back on.

It's two things really, their lack of a strong identity and poor management.

They're essentially a tribute act to 90s American girl groups. It was cute at first but they've not really evolved since Cardboard Box. Access All Areas was a really promising debut but this latest album feels like a a lesser version of that. I think the pop pivot with Leak It was a good move and it was the first song of theirs that really sounded like a "hit". Remedied too. But the album didn't sound anything like those tracks, so I imagine any casual listener would've been confused if they checked out the full album based on one of those songs.

They also waste their momentum at every opportunity. Fly Girl was their highest charting single in the UK and then they just vanished for a year. Leak It also felt like a decent moment for them and then they waited months to announce the album. It's like there's zero plan or real rollout for any of their music, and they're just making it up as they go along.

terrible management and they need a stylist asap. Still rooting for them

sadly there is not much of an interest in 90's styled girl groups anymore .

I think it's too many cooks i think they were really carving out a niche in rnb on AAA with MNEK but now they kind of stagnated. The newer sound mixing in more pop songwriters sounds a bit forced.

Too reliant on 90s/00s sounds which is getting oversaturated and reductive at this point

They let their biggest moments die. They should've pushed leak it HARD and released the album while leak it was still trending. Then they follow up leak it with a slow ballad

Their music is good, but forgettable and reliant on 90s/00s nostalgia for the most part.

Leak It, however, was a moment. It was their first time serving pop stardom, but they don't seem to have much push outside social media.

yeah the reliance on nostalgia is too much with them, it seems like every western girl groups tries to push the "00s girl groups are SO back" thing

at least Leak It is looking like it'll become their most streamed song, seems like they should've pushed that song more

I think they are doing just fine. It took Zara, Sabrina & Tinashe many eras to have true commercial success. I think if they continue pushing themselves & touring building momentum one day they will have their big break.

They are more known now than around their debut album. It takes time now a days! I have a feeling next era will be stronger!

Look at Kateye they are more popular but have zero top 20s now a days you just have to find a loyal fanbase & build on that through touring, making quality music & promoting which FLO is doing.

Theses girls are young they have plenty of time

Lol this is not the case for Zara, she was not an US darling but NFY was a top 15 hit and she was smashing hard in europe, NFY, LL, Symphony, AMF, RML, IWL, she started flopping ever since RML up until MS/Stateside but it's not like it took her 4 eras to smash...

Tinashe had big success with 2 On which's success RCA failed to capitalize on and then All My Friends happened and they still didn'tmanage to gather any attention to her career from that success and after many years her music got the spotlight with Nasty and the awful NBB remix, again she is failing to capitalize on this success because her new music is not pulling decent numbers.

My point still stands, these ladies didn't spent YEARS flopping until they finally got hit, quite the opposite.

A Case could be made for Sabrina, she was under hollywood records, ofc she was a flop...

We've moved past the need for y2k nostalgia slop

For me personally it's the lack of upbeat tracks. I don't care for the slow jams. I want an album full of Leak It and Fly Girl type of songs.

How's it doing worse when both first week sales and streams are higher?

They're a western girl group that debuted post 2006 that's what's not clicking

This side of the world has moved on unfortunately. There isn't much they can do if labels AND the GP don't care like that

They're doing decently all things considered

The GP is not here for Boygroup-Girlgroup music, it is not the 2000's anymore, people want relatable boring chorusless music, it's been over a decade since the last musical group phenomenon, there's been many attempts at trying to fill the void of 1D or 5H and all have failed... the only ones getting attention are the Kpop groups, that industry is so much enterteining to watch + you get plenty of content, constant releases and more... these girls are talented but I don't see it happening for them... or for anyone.

PS: The only reason Katseye is lowkey happening is because they used and kpop approach to make them marketable to kpop fans + they are being backed up by kpop's biggest company, aka HYBE, they share labels or whatever with BTS... That should tell us enough.

I think there's a few issues:

• The most obvious hit me listening to some of their interviews and it's that they're quite uncompromising with what sounds pop nowadays. As other people have said here they're very 90s/00s coded and they're great in that lane but it's not really that exciting. This may end up being an advantage to them in the long run though.

• Their vocals are great but they're also good at bops. I think Leak It and Fly Girl are their best songs, but they call their sophomore album "Therapy at the Club" only for it not to have all that much club on it.

• They don't really work that well as a visual unit but I'm not sure how much that affects things. I do think the Leak It and Remedied videos suggest they're improving on this front.

• I think both their albums are pretty good, but AAA (which is slightly better) feels more American appealing than Therapy at the Club which feels much more British but I can't put my finger on why. In the past, I think British girl groups (despite often being the best) are a little too quirky for American audiences. This new album is more Sugababes/Eternal to the Destiny's Child of their debut, but what I need is x12 the Danity Kane/Cherish that is Leak It.

I agree. I think if they continue building a solid discography, they'll be fine

They just need more Leak It more upbeat type of songs and a solid fanbase to support them. Rooting for this girls
