I was definitely getting Marry The Night too, especially the very last few seconds before the end. I also get a little bit of American Teenager by Ethel Cain. Now that you mention it, it really does evoke a similar feeling to Saturday Night. What a song!! Her wailing really is so unique. I can't think of anyone else who does it like her. This feels like such an accomplishment.

Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
This leaves me feeling similar to when I first listened to Gag Order, although this has a few more moments of levity Both great albums but quite confronting

Most "left-field" albums by mainstream MPGs?
Dead Petz - I would say Something Beautiful too and both are a great lane for her Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, Music - the latter being particularly weird but it doesn't get that rep because the singles are pretty mainstream Tangled Up - mainly for Sexy No No No, I can't believe they got a hit out of it and didn't flop into oblivion but it's a 10/10 for me Motomami, LUX - these are really left-field imo, especially Motomami after her mainstream droplet era Born This Way - she really did that at the peak of her powers Stripped Ultraviolence - maybe she never reached MPG status but eyes were definitely on her following Born To Die Cowboy Carter All masterpieces to me

Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
Everything we've heard so far sounds like it could soundtrack a Sofía Coppola movie
