i was thinking this about Snail Mail recently, her debut was very acclaimed and successful for indie standards but she went 146m -> 51m -> 7m on spotify

the way this happens every single time with her Truth or Dare, Jump, Push 2 Start, Chanel, She Did It Again I haven't revisited the album since release week because there aren't many standouts outside of like 4-5 songs but it's still pretty good, just not as good as her debut

some of the posts come off a bit close minded and it's similar to stuff that's said about kpop when you can tell people will criticise it without actually giving it a fair shot I'm not even into anime but I'm not opposed to watching it, it's like any other show I watched Death Note ages ago and loved it, tried Attack on Titan about two years ago and couldn't get into it but I might give it another try and then randomly watched Spy x Family on a whim cause a friend recommended it and I loved it, it's very funny so now I'm watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and thats really good too

we actually had a few fights over the years that resulted in us not taking for a couple of months over mostly petty things but luckily that hasn't happened in the last 4 years and we've been friends for 15 years now

finally it's so great to see her getting all this success after struggling to even put out Starfucker and having 0 budget hopefully the song will continue to grow but even this is much bigger than anything she's achieved before
