Get rid of Taylor Swift and BTS

The solution is to listen to music that is too old or too good to chart so then you don't have to give a ****.

No one has proposed a solid solution because simply there isn't one. Chart manipulation has existed for decades in multiple forms and will continue to exist. Whatever they do people will never be happ

Nothing.

It's not our problem if your fave can't sell gazillion of variants suburban

Streams, radio and sales can be manipulated and that has always been the case.

Count variants individually: Opalite is one song, Opalite featuring Future is another song, Opalite recorded at the Shower is another song, and so on.

Remove radio from the formula.

Paid and unpaid streams count the same.

Force platforms like Apple Music and Tidal to officially release their numbers.

Why you use Taylor as example, and not your fave?

'Cause your fave also has variants, sometimes even more than Taylor:

-Disease (single)

-Disease the antidote live

-Disease the antidote live instrumental

-Disease the poison live

-Disease the poison live instrumental

Have charts ever really been the best metric? It's always been better to look at actual stats like sales or streams or touring numbers imo. many songs chart well and are forgotten and many classics didnt chart as well as you would think.

The solution is to stream Petal

This is the only answer. I can't tell if this has been made better or ruined by the comment in another thread asking why it sounded like she was saying .pdf with an accent 💀

Remove radio??? Why do we still have it in 2026 over YouTube?

Do NOT count variants(looking at you Taylor).

Maybe just like standard and deluxe or a rerelease(not first week).

Streaming and normal sales only.

I think only one additional variant should count towards a single — whether that's an official remix or an alternate version of a single. There should also be a cap on variant albums (around 3-5).

Because I find more enjoyment in picking your fave and making you fume

Taylor and BTS are the most fraudulent so let her get pregnant and they disband rogue2

Give way more weight to streaming than sales tbh

At this point, who really buys singles and listens to them on a music player app instead of listening to them on a streaming platform?

Nationalize the charts, write up some laws that define what constitues actual fraud, with stern deterrance and actually fund the people who are responsible for investigating fraud cases.

Why the hell does the USA have radio payola deals that guarantee a Hot 100 debut and they are fully legal and alright. At this point the charts are just an easy way for labels and execs to launder money. If straight up payola is legal, we don't wanna know what ACTUALLY goes on behind doors. deadbanana2

There's no solution because every medium (radio, streaming, sales) can be manipulated through some form of payola.

The best thing is to stop paying attention to charts if they bother you, and they'll become irrelevant.

The thing is, charts only matter to fanbases. The GP has no clue how many #1s Taylor, Rihanna etc. have, or how many "solo" hits an mpg has. They don't follow charts that way. So when you take a step back, you realize it doesn't really matter.

I think the industry has been exposed to point of no return

And is not only Billboard, Spotify is owned by the gorup of labels that put whatever number they like on their artists

Its like owning a competition and putting whatever artist you want at the top

Mainstream music is death, most independent artists have realized this and no one is playing the game to reach superstardom anymore, because they know those labels can put whatever Gracie Abrams they want at the top

This. Artists don't care about charts anymore, they just wanna make money off of touring and long term streaming success.

Charts are pretty much over because of these cheap tactics, that's why every lead single is going #1 and etc.

block the artist that abuses the chart manipulation, and change the rules so that **** wont happen again.

The only solution is allowing only iTunes and Amazon Music sales. No website sales or multiple physicals.
