I think Katy would benefit if she surrounded herself more with people who'd give her like some kind of creative pushback, it seems like all the people she works with go "OMG YAS KATY SLAY THIS IS SO SLAY EVERYBODY ELSE WHO DOESN'T THINK THIS IS SLAY IS A MAD HATER" at everything the writes/does, so... it's not really a surprise to me that the quality has dropped off. If I am to believe that one snippet I saw of her talking about co-writing with Justin Tranter, it seems like she is the one having to push back against other people (and then people fold immediately because well she's the boss, pays and calls the shots). I think she needs a creative partner that is not afraid of saying NOPE to her, despite being bankrolled by her. All draggings aside, I 100% think she genuinely could make a comeback if she just breaks through that barrier, and surprises people with something genuinely earnest, introspective and daring.
