Can you imagine being 67, forty years into an extremely successful career, and people are still trying to hold you to some arbitrary non-existant standard of success?

Nothing went wrong, considering her streams are increasing and monthly listeners are WAY up since the last era.

The Confessions film has changed public opinion of her...but I wouldn't expect her detractors to admit that.

Who are you talking about? lmao She literally is above her peers and her overall streams show that. And Madonna didn't even have a record label until 2022 that was taking care of her legacy...before that there was no playlisting and she was on her own really so she never accumulated a lot of streams.

Currently she also has more daily streams than most gen from the early 90's like Celine, Mariah, etc...

Her daily streams currently are on par with artists like Britney Spears...women from the late 90's. The only women pre 00's that have more daily streams nowadays than Madonna are Shakira and Beyoncé.

Madonna had 12M monthly listeners when madame X came out...now she has 55M.

Like...all of this is crazy positive for her and someone who's 67.

She wasn't able to score the things you mentioned without tacking on a Bruno duet to her album because she'll stoop to any low for numbers, so after Disease tanked she knew she had to get out her spackle and glue and duct tape it on at the end. Even he didn't add it to his album as the primary writer of the song because he believes in his music. Gaga's barely hanging on at 40, and you're comparing her to a 67 year old woman who's almost 68. You know who was a 68 year old female singer when Madonna was 40? Della Reese and Mitzi Gaynor. You think they were in the conversation at all?

Considering Gaga's barely hanging on now, we'll see what she's doing 28 years from now. Because if you want to go on even ground and compare their careers at age 40, it's not even close.

Hopefully those Gaga taught to attach their self worth to her success can handle it.

I'm on the side of the fence that I'm just happy Madonna is still releasing music, but I do think Confessions 2 is better than Hard Candy to Madame X.

Fine. Same applies for Gaga when she's 70, assuming she'll still be making music for you at that age. You can't pull the whole "well 30 years ago she accomplished this..."
