Madonna - what went wrong?

The real irony here is Linda Perry, whose whole body of work can be traced back as a regurgitation of her one hit wonder moment eonz ago, trying to call out Madonna for not being innovative enough. It's laughable that some people are putting weight on her statement, the joke writes themselves.

Agreed, what was her last hit? Beautiful is the only great song she has done.

why do y'all still expect good music from someone who didn't make any in like 15 years ?

Why don't you take your own advice, apply it to Madonna, and shove it up your ass?

Didn't read any of this because everything she's been doing so far, I've been impressed with. This era seems to care-free, Queer, and fun. Nothing serious or deep except her continuous advocacy for LG

Yeah please tell me what went wrong cause after 44 years on a scene and being the most influential and best selling female artist of all times I dont see it

the songs are okay, just a little too close to chromatica territory for my taste.

however, I do agree they shoot themselves in the foot by linking this material to the original Confessions.

Her saying she wants to sit Madonna down to slap her and make her be great again like she's some matermind in this industry lmao

Imagine writing "Get This Party Started" and thinking you're a lyrical genius.

Making a Born this Way B-sides album 15 years later was a choice too. bird

That being said I'm happy she's still releasing, I'm still a fan but frustrated because she can clearly do better than this

But CAN she?

We're getting the album that belongs to the same boat where MDNA, RH and MX are. It clearly shows she can't make good music anymore.

Her only decent song in the last 10 years was Weekend collab. That says everything.

I'm just trying to understand what happened to Madonna's music and why there's such a decline in quality michael you really don't need to bring Kukai card each time when you don't know how to answer

And the answer is in a way this

I enjoyed Hard Candy, MDNA was fine, rebel heart atrocious, madame x had it's moments and I like what she recorded for confessions II so far. As I already said, erotica/ray of light madoNNa is gone, not cummin back. This is it for quite some time, so better ejoy it or just let it go. There are other artists out there.

The Grindr promo is a curious customer experience in that the audience overlaps strongly but it makes both the platform and the thing being marketed (Madonna) annoying. Who the hell wants to be interrupted by a woman while searching for dick?

Madonna is the queen of pop for a reason. In the fifth decade of her career, she does not need to prove herself with chart performance.

That "BTW B Sides" sold 8M, won 4 grammys, her most acclaimed album, hit #1, and bagged 2 smash hits. Same can't be applied to confessions ii despite the help of Sabrina and Coachella bird

Without Bruno, no solo studio no. 1 since forever. At that age madonna sold 14 million without any inflated streaming gimmicks and ridiculous equivalent joke.

And the grammys were not the kind of audience and fame driven awards.

Well, your favorite can never. This film and music went right.

So sit down and return your anger sis because madonna is still great

(Without Bruno) Abracadabra: 800M, at that age she also won an Oscars and BAFTA + Best Actress nominee.

Without Sabrina: Confessions ii - 5M streams

I won't name names, but I remember seeing an interview of a person working in the music industry saying that with specific artists it doesn't matter how horrible their music is their fans will still buy it and they will never admit that it's bad and that's why it's important to have a big fan base. This seems to be the case here too. michael

So?? Without anyone her album sold 14 million at her age.

Abrablahblah didn't even make top 10. Its quite laughable.

Yeah a 67 years old woman still made an entrance at the chart with little Sabrina into her 5th decade for her career.

Let's see what your favorite can do at 67

Madonna's last SOLO entry was in 2009, it's quite laughable

Nothing horrible here. Nobody says about that to old male artists. Quite a joke

That's fine and I won't laugh because she had had 37 solo top 10s on an unprecedented run which was an all time record during the pure sales era. You favorite can never.
