I feel there are a number of people that had a certain prejudice against this song before they had even heard it and who now don't want to admit that it is actually excellent!

The Club Confessions appearances result in hundreds, if not thousands of clips circulating all over social media. This creates organic buzz. Let's not forget that her streaming numbers are the best they have ever been! This proves that the songs this time around have penetrated beyond her core fanbase. However, I do agree with you that more targeted playlisting wouldn't hurt!

As an 'album opener' IFSF does a better job at setting the scene...

I actually disagree. The guerilla marketing has worked wonders and I feel that a bunch of vapid TV appearances (such as Fallon) would break the spell somewhat...

Born This Way is Gaga's best album for sure, but there is still plenty of filler, whereas C2 is a skipless album! C2 wins easily.

Only a 75% drop for Confessions II and still Top 15 - this is a much better result than I was expecting! I'm surprised they haven't dropped anything else this week, aside from the Afterhours Edition on digital. A couple of vinyl/CD variants would help to push it up a few spots... Anyway, week 3 should be pretty stable with the World Cup performance!
