We all know her rabid fan base will buy those cds any day of the week so yes, she could have given Charli her moment.

The charli thing is purely a coincidence but The 1975's "thing" has been June 1st for longer than a decade atp & she's been a huge fan of theirs for years so I find it hard to believe that not even 1 small part of her hoped she could detract from a possible announcement they might have made (they've been teasing new music for ages & fans had long speculated today might have been the day for an announcement). Fair enough. Being petty over matters of the heart makes sense. Idt Taylor or Charli thinks of the other 10% as much as you all think they do

Agreed. And this all assumes she had enough pull to adjust the announcement as she saw fit; it could have been a decision made solely by the studio in charge of the film

They do, but those of us who love both artists are excited for both releases independently. An announcement from another artist certainly isn't going to stop me from preordering Charli's album after buying both vinyl singles so far and planning to buy the third.
