Certified database records from Germany's official music industry body, the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI), reveal that Shakira has accumulated over 6 million certified units across albums and singles, whereas Christina Aguilera tracks at roughly 2.5 million certified units.

Shakira is out-charting Xtina everywhere, both in the U.S. and worldwide.

Shakira would benefit from a record label that has successful connections in America and U.S. radio, especially for her English music. She's currently releasing all her music through Sony Music Latin, which doesn't have the same pull. Before, her English music was released through RCA and Epic Records, which historically suck for almost all their artists. She probably could have had much higher peaks with songs like "She Wolf" (#11 in the U.S.) with a skilled record label like Republic.
