  1. She really gives like influencer that caught a vibe rather than artist if I'm being honest.
  2. We don't. Let's leave the songwriting to Tatiana.
  3. we don't want the audience to fall asleep on single #2 and the level of ***** being served on Like I Do can only be harnessed by true fans not the GP
  4. freak you will always be famous

  6. the motherquake we needed more than all
  7. Like does it make anyone feel better to know she hasn't been doing well at all the entire time in any before or after photos? @IVY Do you need to see her mental and physical state deteriorate further for you to feel right?
  8. "Nothing has changed in her life" to "she is releasing a new album and on a tour right now" - so things have changed? @Communion is putting the quote in context because y'all were using it to act as if she said something she did not. That's it. You can wrestle with the semantics of what you think she said on your own.
  9. Trauma compounds. She has been dealing with this since she was a kid on top of the multitude of unique situations she has been put through in between auditions, whether in the music or movie industry, and that's just the stuff we've seen in public.
  10. There's a more nuanced conversation to have about this that very few on here are prepared to have. Unfortunately, from my outsider's perspective, it really does feel like when you cross a certain threshold in business, capital is always the answer before humanity. Ariana releasing music is guaranteed ROI, working with her is a massive add to the resume, if they say or do something that doesn't resonate with her, what happens to them? Something I thought of recently was the picture taken of her with the HTIMYLM #1 and it was so strange. All of these executives would still make money if she dropped dead tomorrow and an anthology/collection went to market. I hate that it's gotten to this point but I generally don't blame anyone arguing in good faith on either side of coin. She is being provocative with the way she is displaying herself in her art, she is actively exploring darker imagery and as she herself has said, she gets paid the more y'all talk ****. She has continued to be placed into the narrow box of victim, seductress and manipulator. We wouldn't be surprised if someone suffering from PTSD was in a bad state in private, but because it's public, because we as fans are still incentivized to consume and engage with her work and have to reckon with that in conversation with people that are looking to paint her in a bad light, it becomes increasingly discomforting. I just typed a whole lot of nothing but I really resent that we can't hold space to engage with nuance and it's always cupcakes versus haters like this isn't something unprecedented and difficult to stomach. I want nothing but the best for her and for her fans. It's really hard to sit with.
  11. like
  12. SOMEDAY ALL OF THE SEEDS WILL OPEN ALL OF THE LIFE I'VE BEEN DENIED OF WILLL BLOOM ALL AROUND - UNFROZEN... HOW WILL IT FEEL?! HOW WILL IIIIIT... FEEEEEEEEL!?
  13. freak is starting to sound like song of her whole career extended silence
  14. petal: full bloom is coming with slightly bigger vocals and an eclectic electronic undercurrent i see the vision y'all i'm sorry
  15. Oh, and by the way, I like the album. The last eighteen hours-ish were a social experiment.
  16. Are you insinuating you want people to engage in prostitution to increase Ariana Grande's MetaCritic score?
  17. pet-al in the pannings
  18. I've been sitting with this too because I think there is a phenomenon where less is more is becoming du jour in pop. MFF is designed to explore vacuousness in relation to community, ambition and act as a contrast to the prior album being very emotionally forward. The production on Petal is incredible, but which examples would you give for mesmerizing lyrics? It is probably the least lyrical of all of Ariana's albums, but I think that might be by design too. She's done explaining her meta narrative 1) because people don't take her at face value and 2) it doesn't even make sense anymore.
  19. The album's ghostwriter would say this!
  20. I do not hear what y'all are hearing in oh well like omg
  21. president: like i do vp: freak secretary: bad thing
  22. kiss me hit after like the fourth time :/ she's right. i do hate that i love her
  23. They're operating on opposite ends of the spectrum IMO. TTPD has too much bloat to see the real gems for the casual listener. Petal ends before she can say anything truly as memorable as her other albums do.
