TIME revealed its 2026 TIME100 Next list Wednesday (Sept. 30), underscoring 100 emerging leaders across entertainment, sports, business, science, politics and other fields. Among this year's honorees are seven musicians: RAYE, Troye Sivan, PinkPantheress, Megan Moroney, Conan Gray, Alex Warren and sombr. The list consists of artist who are definitely making their mark in today's current pop music world, carving out their places in the spotlight. RAYE, who appears on one of the issue's three worldwide covers, is set to perform at the TIME100 Next event in New York on Oct. 29. TIME paired each honoree with a guest contributor to write about their work and influence. With cover girl RAYE, Anya Tayor-Joy spoke to how special the singer-songwriter is as an artist. "She has that rare ability to make something deeply personal feel universal, turning heartbreak, humor and hard-won honesty into music that reaches straight through you," penned the actress. For Gray, that contributor is longtime friend and fellow pop musician Olivia Rodrigo, who recalled watching him perform "Family Line" in London and being moved by the song's ability to transform such a painful experience into something that could make fans feel understood. Troye Sivan received a tribute from another pop heavyweight, Kylie Minogue, who described him as a quintessential 2020s pop star and celebrated his evolution as an artist. Meanwhile, fashion designer Stella McCartney penned sombr's tribute, connecting the young artist's musical upbringing and praising his ability to turn those influences into something that is vastly his own. x

Rita Ora is being sued by her former manager for more than £3million. Her former manager Sarah Stennett , who helped make Rita a star after signing her in 2009, has lodged papers at the High Court claiming her firm FAE Ventures is owed millions. The documents claim Rita violated the terms of her contract by failing to hand over a cut of her earnings from tours and TV work. The biggest chunk of the alleged underpayments stands at just over £1.7million - with Sarah's firm claiming there were "impermissible deductions" for professional services including advertising, accountancy and insurance. Rita is also alleged to have hidden more than £1.1million by "unreporting touring income" between spring 2019 and 2020 while on her Phoenix World Tour, which included seven UK arena shows and a night at London's O2 Arena. Paperwork also suggests that up to £6million made from those gigs allegedly went missing from the statements. Sarah's firm claims Rita misrepresented her earnings while working as a judge on The Masked Singer. It alleges that commission from the fifth series was paid "on the basis of invoices which did not accurately reflect the sums to which the defendant was contractually entitled". Sarah claims the alleged "cover-up" left her business almost £25,000 out of pocket. x
