The song itself will probably cause the meltdowns, but that's a true Tinashe lead single experience

ahh What?

Nasty's 1st week — 1,365,676 and it was consistently doing 120k-191k for the first 30 days.

The lack of play-listing out of the gate and the video mishap causing it to not even reach 100k yet is concerning

Can we pleeeeeeease just enjoy the music for once 🫩 we're acting like her streaming numbers are a surprise. She's not mainstream the way we want her to be and who knows what this song will do in the future. It literally just came out 48 hours ago, give it some time!

Honestly the second verse being a copy paste of the first is way more egregious than the length. It makes the song feel even shorter.

Yeah I just don't get the vision with this one sorry mama. We'll check back for single #2

It's fun but as others have already said it sounds incomplete. I get why artists are putting out shorter songs (tiktok, playlists, small attention span etc) but it's just not for me. Most of the time the song absurdly ends just when it's starting to get going.

It's a bop

But I'm mad at the 1:54 rip Gurl-

It literally just needed a bridge + final chorus

Probably been said over and over , but it's all intentional. The song + the video makes it clear that , in a similar but different vein of the wave Charli has been on, Tinashe is critiquing the pop star apparatus and our idea of pop stars in general. There are internal label discussions all the time now , due to the proliferation of hits made via TikTok , that pop songs meant for mainstream consumption need to be shorter so they have more replay value. Hence the perfect loop of the song and video. There's a separate conversation that can be had about .. well to me anyway I think we've had a lot of pop album cycles in recent years that kind of tackle this meta, inside-looking-out commentary on pop stardom , but I still like seeing Tinashe's perspective on it. TL;DR correct as you may be that the song feels a bit "incomplete", I'm like 99% positive it's all part of what Tinashe is intentionally trying to do here.

I'm ready for a new single

What is there to enjoy? An interlude as a single?

Well I was being nice, seeing how gloomy the situation is

I feel like I'm in some alternate reality why are we acting like there was ever a chance for a Tinashe single to smash out the gate. The song and video are good and that is all we need.

As a Charli stan, I'm glad we don't have to deal with annoying success bandwagoners at least

I mostly use ATRL on mobile so I thought this was Dua at first then I saw Tinashe was finally getting some respect from this site clap3

This is great. I really admire her perseverance & the social commentary she weaves in, whilst still being able to serve a bop & choreo downnnn.

It's too easy

Hopefully simone/nicelife can go ahead and lock in a night show performance and some interviews soon. Also, I don't want a single for a while I think this video is easily her best since bouncin. I think she needs to really let it marinate for like 2 more months. I want her to start using that moretinashe page to post some snippets and have some popup dj sets around LA/NYC. Sorta like the eusexua raves that would be cool.

this is a bop. I totally get the intention behind it. I'm sure the follow up will be more fuller songs.

fantastic video and a bop. deserves to be a song of the summer but I have no faith in the general public coffee2

Hope I don't jinx it but I'm kinda glad this song isn't a success similar to Nasty. The wait between Nasty and Quantum was so long for me and just for her to drop 8 tracks. Whew...

Hope the hit (if/when it comes) is when the album is released so that maybe the album can get a boost too.
