Part of being a celebrity , of course , means you are going to be scrutinized by the public ..that'll never change. Comparing Ariana "needing help" to Britney Spears "needing help" is wild tho. The only similarity is that in both situations we should always just want the best for these women. Not always even out of concern, just in general bc they're talented pop divas and we worship them. The way people go about choosing to express that online is the issue at hand Ariana's weight has fluctuated throughout her career. Look at her on the My Everything cover for example .. she's very thin there ! And perhaps she is thinner presently , maybe it's also just showing differently.. or maybe the most important thing is that, while I've conceded it's inevitable, the constant speculation about her weight (that she's presently addressing in the form of her visuals for this era btw) is oftentimes expressed in not constructive / harmful ways by people who have truly no clue what's going on behind the scenes in her life. Because god forbid you people are wrong , and there is something she's dealing with and it's different than people callously perpetuating that it MUST be an eating disorder … you think that the way people talk about her online is helping her situation at all ? It even weirdly feels gross to have to explain that. I mean for what it's worth she's on tour right now performing for 2 hours every night and sounding some of the best she ever has in her life .. seems contradictory to her struggling in such a dangerous way as many of you purport. But there are also certain signals that make it …. Let's just say not all that surprising!

As an Ari stan since 2013 , and though it pains me to say this , it's a 5 or 6/10. Average to slightly above average. A lot of the songs feel to me , so far , like they'd be perfectly adequate album tracks that I'd mostly skip over if it was any other artist. But because it's her and I generally like most of her albums from start to finish .. it's just disappointing I guess. I wish I felt differently but that's where it stands for now.

I did my second listen this morning and it's still not clicking for me even Sweetner , which is arguably my least favorite album from her , had more tracks that I was able to pick out and put on rotation that ultimately lead to me appreciating the full project a lil more …. So far with this record the only song I truly love is bad thing/bunny hop. You're never gonna like everything that one of your favorite artists puts out, and I do commend her for experimenting with her sound … my biggest problem , as others have noted , is the songwriting and the fact that it's much more vocally subdued than her previous records. I'm hoping more of it will grow on me over time.

It's gonna have to grow on me .. bad thing (bunny hop) is the best song for me I like that it's really different for her I can't lie I feel like I'm disappointed that this album doesn't seem to have …. Idk I guess the vocal moments I've come to expect from her. I felt like a lot of the songs have this similar cadence with where she uses her voice in a kinda rushed way that doesn't let her hold notes for very long. Maybe that's intentional , but I really love hearing Ari belt and use the full expanse of her amazing voice; I felt like this album is largely missing that

I think we need to really start examining this type of thing with careful eyes and open minds. There are nefarious, fascistic powers in this world that are very adept at using things like social media outrage/videos as means to push racist anti immigrant agendas. To say nothing of the terrifying advancement of AI (I don't think this is AI but my point is about a larger, darker real life movement) and in general when we talk about immigration we should ask ourselves why people, mainly black/brown/poc, feel they need to flee their countries in the first place and whether or not our tax dollars have ever contributed to that

Well she's like burping and fidgeting and stuttering when she's asked basic policy questions to say nothing of the fact (and sorry this is mean but she's a Zionist idgaf) she indeed DOES look like an ogre that's suspended between human - ogre transformation. Period. I was listening to a lot of it last week and it really holds up well today I think. X-static Process and Mother and Father are some of my faves. And Nothing Fails is such a fabulous song too.
