I've never been one to be put into a box, so the name 'Quantum Baby' encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative." The album was considered a renaissance for Tinashe since the singles Nasty and No Broke Boys were massive success. Nasty when viral thanks to a viral video and No Broke Boys had a remix with Disco Lines that has become so successful it is now her most streamed song on Spotify. Tinashe - BB/Ang3l Tinashe's 6th album and 11th overall project. To quote Tinashe on the album title "I was really inspired by screen names and avatars, and how we're able to create our own personas online. We're able to name ourselves in that way and take control of our identity. I wanted to create something similar to a screen name, or some type of tag that I could put on this era that would represent the persona or the energy that I was embodying for this particular project." Tinashe also explained that she intentionally kept BB/Ang3l to seven tracks, stating that "sometimes it's good to streamline [an album] and cut the fat", and that she wanted listeners "to appreciate every single one of those seven songs". What I mean is that People's attention (especially in pop culture) are being compartmentalized to specific niches rather than a shared experience by a majority. See Ella's unprecedented success in Hot 100, you'll see every week a viral tweet asking people "who's actually listening to this?" Basically back then you'll have Michael Jacksons and Madonnas. But nowadays, you can be mega popular just by having a dominating force over a specific niche. I have nothing against CHD Podcast and I do listen to podcast (but mostly drag race adjacent). I'm just upset that the times of pop domination are far and seemingly over.

Great now I'll have to loop this till the album drops. I know that Tinashe is a lot more Beyonce-adjacent rather than Riri but I think a collab between the two especially one with a similar vibe as this would END me.

Honestly I agree. It's further causing a fragmentation of pop culture. I literally never heard of this podcast before today and suddenly I'm told it's actually a pretty popular podcast. That's why promoting music has had such a shift in recent years.

A pop and R&B album, 333 includes electro-pop and house elements, while it explores independence, self-empowerment, love, and emotional vulnerability. Its title references the angel number "333", which signifies guidance and optimism, while the cover art depicts a sci-fi-inspired image of Tinashe with three eyes amid tranquil scenery. 333 was promoted with overall four singles, "Pasadena", "Bouncin'", "X", and "Naturally". Tinashe - Comfort & Joy Tinashe's 1st EP and 9th overall project. She announced the EP on her social media accounts, referring to it as "a cute lil Christmas EP" and stating that she felt listeners "could use some comfort and joy this year" The project is in collaboration with her brother Quiet Child who she already collaborated on "Delilah" and "Ride Da Wave". The cover artwork features Tinashe set against a red background, wearing red lipstick and matching gloves. The image depicts her smiling, which she noted on social media as her first cover to do so. Tinashe - Songs For You Tinashe's 4th album and 8th overall project. The album that served as a reintroduction to a lot of people to Tinashe. After separating with RCA after they scrapped the Nashe album, going separate ways with her previous management and a very public breakup with Ben Simmons. Tinashe was basically starting all over again. This found her back to her roots with the album being recorded in her home studio and reaching out to producers who would be willing to collaborate. The result was a project that reinvigorated her fanbase and reignited people's interest in her music. The album was so well received that it had Tinashe in a vulnerable state and tearfully thanking all the people who continued to support her and her music. The album also housed several tracks that was from the scrapped Nashe album such as "Cash Race" and "Link Up" as well as several catalog highlights like "Know Better" and "Save Room for Us" YouTube Link Spotify Link 5 Days Left To POPST★R

The issue back then wasn't what the album was supposed to sound like primarily. It was the fact that Tinashe was failing to get hit songs for the album to anchor on. Joyride was basically being held hostage until Tinashe got a hit but RCA wouldn't properly promote her. It was really a catch 22. Joyride was Tinashe under extreme compromise. Flame was released as a single cause it got her a sponsorship with Pepsi and a lot of promo slots. Also at the time, another issue was Tinashe being put in a box cause she was too pop for R&B and vice versa. They just didn't know what to do with her. A fully pop album would risk alienating the fanbase she already had with her previous 6 releases.

What are the most memorable moments from the Joyride era for you guys? Mine would be when Tinashe was promoting Flame using a fire truck and her performing with half naked firemen in the middle of winter on the side of the street for less than 30 people. Tinashe was going THROUGH IT!!

Tinashe - Joyride Tinashe's 3rd album and 7th overall project. The album that was a turning point for Tinashe's career. Under immense pressure from her label, the era was plagued with constant pushbacks, mismanagement from her label, and poor support for her music among others. First off is the single "Player" with a Collab with CB (it was really the label, it wasn't me!) next was summer ready for "SuperLove" (which has aged gracefully IMO) and the infamous "Flames" where Tinashe said "I cried for two days when they told me I had to put that song out as a single." She was committed to get the album out and after a slew of singles, Joyride was released! The album symbolizes Tinashe's tenacity and conviction for her music. And after a failed romance with Ben Simmons and scraping the album Nashe with the tracks "Like I Used To" and "Throw A Fit" Tinashe decided it was time to move on from RCA. I'm glad people are talking about these tracks since being left off the album makes them easier to forget they are still part of Tinashe's catalog.

Tinashe - Nightride Tinashe's 2nd album and 6th overall project. During a time of constant pushback from her label, Tinashe decided to take the initiative. That included leaking tracks like Party Favors on a random Tuesday. Another Track that she leaked was Energy feat. Juicy J to tide fans while waiting for the original "Joyride". Nightride was release as a mixtape since RCA did not want to promote the album but has since been acknowledged as her 2nd album. For many, this is considered Tinashe best work and for solid reason. Tracks like Sacrifices and Ride Of Your Life were released before this type of sound would fully hit the mainstream consciousness. The album also has the dance heavy Company and hauntingly beautiful Ghetto Boy in its tracklist. The album continues to be a highlight in Tinashe's ever expanding catalog.
