ChatGPT slop on ATRL

Featured Replies

i'm concerned about the increasing trend of chat gpt slop infiltrating this forum. Example:

do you think outsourcing personal thought to chatgpt adds any value to ATRL?

Anyone using ChatGPT on a regular basis on here should be banned. Yes it's that serious and I'm surprised this isn't a forum rule already. What's the point of signing onto a discussion board if you ne

This kind of thing is just going to keep happening and increase in prevalence with time. AI isn't going to be able to take everyone's jobs the way people are freaking out about, not on its current trajectory, but it's absolutely at a place already where it's going to make people permanently dumber and slowly make all online discussion essentially completely pointless. Like if you can't even be bothered to lift your thumbs, flap them against the screen, and articulate your own thoughts, then you're sure as **** not gonna take the time read an opposing (or even supplemental and concurring) point of view and have the tools to understand and engage with it meaningfully. Why bother at that point?

Your IQ has to be about 12 if you can't even write a ******* forum post for yourself. Lazy as ****.

BjörkIsMyMom loves using it to drag Gaga. 0 effort.

Omgggg, the overusege of the word slop is starting to enrage me. Did you know you can say just "AI" or "Chat GPT" without following it with "slop"? ****

If you're too dumb to come up with your own argument, go back to Facebook with the other AI loving boomers.

When I was younger I used to sometimes think damn my grammar is so bad sometimes when I post on here especially considering I'm a native speaker. I just sort of type my thoughts and sometimes use the wrong word or I'll sometimes use punctuation and then just not and ramble on and on

it sounds stupid but in the era of AI I'm kind of grateful for my inconsistent informal writing style online bc I feel like AI can't replicate it lmao. Like aren't we all here to talk about music passionately? Why would I want to hear what a machine thinks of Kylie Minogue rip

And here I was thinking I had only two braincells but apparently my braincells are all alive and thriving...

i feel like there's quite a few threads that start with some post that feels waffly but not in a way that someone actually cared about writing it and i always assume that those are chatGPT and don't really want to engage with them

Drying the oceans to write a ChatGPT ATRL post rip We have hit rock bottom as a society deadbanana2

ChatGPT will never replace my mispelled words or missing words my sentences heart

Why use this forum if you aren't a bit deranged and want to shout your opinions into the void rip

I know I'm an essayist on here and that's cringe sometimes, but damn that's the whole reason I post!

More importantly, why did you vote that you won't listen to Madonna's new album?

A bottom on Atrl? Likely place for it to be

Even if you disregard the ethics, what on earth is the fun of writing a forum post with AI? Why be here it all if it isn't to express your own thoughts (or lack thereof)?

Your essays are interesting to read and have thought and emotion behind them! I love reading them even if we don't agree sometimes.

And I will FOREVER take an essay written by an actual person over a block of text haphazardly strung together by a line of code

Unpopular opinion, but I agree! 🧵 In today's fast-paced digital era, authenticity is a rare commodity. Here are 3 ways we can navigate the influx of AI text (Number 2 will shock you):
> 1. Embrace organic dialogue.
> 2. Leverage human empathy.
> 3. Optimize our synergy.

Totally agree, sis heart2

ATRL being one of the last holdouts on the internet where you know you're talking to real people is actually very important to me, even if we're bickering!

You're really asking the right questions! Not only is using AI to write forum posts cringe and lazy — it's also super bad for the environment!
