No obviously nobody should say that and I'm not saying that but this total inability to say anything that isn't working and even putting forward proposals to change things always leading to backlash in the tone of YOU JUST HATE AMERICA is completely ridiculous. They should be saying I love this country, I want the best for the people of this country etc. But this American exceptionalism framework has like never been further from reality. It's totally in line with the Trump mindset of never apologize, never admit weakness. It's like you're just expected to accept the country as THIS IS THE BEST COUNTRY ON EARTH even when it's in an absolutely abysmal state like right now and that's not helping anyone.
