Antidepressants users how long have been using them?

Featured Replies

There's people who have gone +30 years with them. I don't use them myself, just curious for ATRL years.

Started in 2019. Tried various combinations of wellbutrin, prozac, lexapro, and mirtazapine.

Currently just on mirtazapine, and it's working well, but you have to be diligent with your diet to counteract the weight gain side effects.

I've never experienced depression but use Zoloft for anxiety. For 1 year now, I suffer insomnia without it.

I was on sertraline for the first time for two months recently and it did nothing for me so I'm awaiting to be put on different ones

I've been on Wellbutrin for nearly a year. I like it aside from the random brain zaps/tremors.

Im on Wellbutrin for one month lol. I love it so far. I have so much energy and motivation. My appetite for snacks and sugar is down. My nurse friend said it was originally developed to help with cigarette cravings. Besides the anxiety it's given me I'm so happy and Im about to up my dose tomorrow lol

Fluoxetine (mostly for anxiety but it works both ways) it does okay but I recently started supplementing with Clonidine which aside from the random sleepiness seems to work pretty well

omg been on Zoloft since I was 13 with a couple years off in the middle, so roughly like 9 years total?

i got put on sertraline 4 months ago (first antidepressants I've been on) and im taking 100mg a day now and i kinda feel like its doing nothing :rip: or at least nothing drastic .. if i dont take them for a few days then yeah ill feel a bit more 'bogged down' but im wondering if thats just withdrawal .. i was kinda hoping they would actually have a noticeable difference tbh

Started with zoloft but I didn't like how numb it made me like I had no emotions and couldn't cry or anything. It also made me gain weight so I switch to Wellbutrin which makes me very energetic and it also makes you lose weight so I like it lol

ohh I've been on them for almost 4 years now I think

More than ten years now ... i still think they prescribed it way too quickly, but every time I try to go off them the withdrawal symptoms **** with my brains. So I've resigned myself to taking them until I get a bit more stability in my life career wise and get a better grip on my fibromyalgia.

almost 3 years using Fluoxetine for anxiety

however I am about to leave it since I dont need it anymore

went from 1 tablet a day, 2 tablets a day , then 1 again and now I am only taking half-tablet

I am going to the psychiatrist again next month but just to see if everything is right and then leave it completely

it did work for me but I dont need them anymore, i am way more confident now, I even lost my virginity while using it lol

sex used to scare me so much before taking this

:coffee:

I have been taking Xanax for anxiety, sleep and stress for a couple of years, but I am thinking of trying an antidepressant since benzos are addictive. But I'm taking xanny on and off and I haven't felt a need to up my doze so idk.

2012

I have ocd and without it I can't leave the house or function normally (imagine Howard Hughes from the aviator movie). Also have psychosis and anxiety due to my ocd.

take Zoloft and latuda and trazadone for insomnia

Mirtazapine for almost 2 years now. I went from 60KG to 73KG in 6 months lol, so that was definitely something.. The cravings were insane :duck:

I was on Prozac as a teen for a bit.

I started a combination of lexapro, trazodone and klonopin a few years ago. It really killed my  sex drive for a while once I got used to it it came back. It keeps me level.

I always thought about using it, but it's like, I know they're not going to change my life, and I don't think I am really in need. But sometimes I think if it would help me somehow.

Lexapro for 1-2 years. Wellbutrin for 1 year. Currently getting off wellbutrin.

Currently on cymbalta and mirtazapine. I take mirtazapine at night because it puts you to sleep and it works pretty well. Everything depends on what works well with your body chemistry though :gaycat4:
